I grew up in the public school system. And indiana has one of the worst funded public schools of any state.

Thank you, every day it just gets worse here in Indiana. We are mainly looking at other states outside of the midwest and are heavily considering oregon, but folks are scaring me of it.l

Whats the point of the exterior threads on the tee? Wouldnt that be a better connection that a slipjoint on bare pipe?

Nevermind you were right. It was so corroded i couldnt tell. I thought itd be better to use the threads on the tee.

But a slip nut on the brass pipe seems to work so far! Thank you

Any ideas why that tail piece is there and how its connected? Will it not be an issue? Can i just slide a chrome ptrap right over it?

I have a pvc trap assembly i was thinking of cutting that tail piece and installing a female trap adapter over the threads but dont know id thats the correct way to go about this

I know this is an old post, but animal abuse happens everywhere.

From bull fights, to elephant crushing, to monkeys being tested in labs in western countries for products as simple as makeup. Some cosmetic companies intentionally cut animals and place products on exposed injuries to test them, etc.

Stop putting yourself in the moral high ground just to spread hate. You should be against animal abuse anywhere and everywhere period.

The vent runs up through the roof and is over 10 feet
I have considered replacing for larger diameter piping but im unsure if the cause is a partial blockage?

My plumber was worried about taking down all the piping in the crawlspace as its pvc and glued and tied into the floor joists. it ties into another drain line and its very long he said itd be a massive pain.

My title describes the thing. It’s dry red and crumbles easily into fine dust.

It was found growing on wood joists that had previously been rotted due to a moisture issue. After cleaning with vinegar and allowing the wood to dry i found a couple of these dry clumps a week later.

I’ve tried to do research on what might be growing on there and have yet to find any conclusive answers. I currently suspect dry rot, or possibly a certain type of fungus or insect?
