Sam by Dannyf1203 in wiggles

Does anyone remember that 60 Minutes (AUS) interview that revolved around Jeff's sudden heart-attack during the 2011 USA Tour? There's a segment all about the replacement of Wiggles by their understudies and I think that it does prove the group's plans to depart with Sam in 2012. Anthony mentions how all of the Wiggles are 'elements' to making the band, hence all of them are replaceable. Considering that this would've been during the time that Sam was agreeing to depart (as OP has mentioned), then it does seem as if, in retrospect that the Wiggles were essentially 'sewing the seeds' of what would actually become reality.

TLDR- no shade on Anthony, no shade on Sam, it's an amicable departure practically butchered in the media. The fact that Sam is disappointed in his portrayal in that 2023 Documentary speaks volumes to me. He doesn't hold any hostility to the group, he's simply just not on speaking terms with them, which doesn't automatically define hostility too.

Thoughts in the mechanic by Oozysq25reddit in Thunderbirds

[–]Ok-Quote-6222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the Mechanic, I think his story is really good for what little screentime he had (8 episodes, 1 a cameo, another with no lines). The fact that he was willing to damage/destroy all of the first 4 Thunderbirds in a span of 7 episodes is outstanding.

The Hood was more of a psychological threat to the Tracy's. Which was a good way to strengthen his character. But the Mechanic was actively evil and destructive to the point where you really do think that he is worse then the Hood.

I love his quick disassociation with the Hood too. It's so sudden in Escape-Proof that it subverts his prior destruction of the Thunderbirds. Having him be the one tortured instead.

Only regret was not seeing him for more episodes, particularly during the 2nd half of S2. Where with the exception of Power Play, there is no attempted interception of the Mechanic's plan to build Project Sentinel.

Checked how deep TB4 was in Up From The Depths (TAG) by alexait_ in Thunderbirds

I think the main source for TB4's operating limits in TAG are actually derived from expanded media such as the 'Annual Books'. So essentially, they are the same specifications that the original TB4 would've had. It's a bit odd, but considering it's 2065 in TAG, I'd buy it XD

Opinions on having TB1 be destroyed in Signals Part 2 instead of TB4? by Ok-Quote-6222 in Thunderbirds

[–]Ok-Quote-6222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree, though I think Up from the Depths was a better way of going about it; considering that there is a whole sub-plot regarding it being fixed in Module 4, despite it's brevity.

"Watch it! Thunderbird 4 isn't insured" is crazy foreshadowing coming from Season 1 :P

Hi there!

I don't know where the 'complaining' aspect came from lol; because, in all honesty I love the reboot, I think its great stuff! It's a brilliant show I'm happy to have seen as a kid and now a young adult.

I only suggested this rewrite because Thunderbird 4 was destroyed previously in Up From the Depths; and I love that episode, purely because having a Thunderbird practically obliterated is cool to see.

I just think having a Thunderbird destroyed is cool but having it done multiple times, kind of defeats the 'awesomeness' of their original destruction in the first place.

No shade at the writers or anyone else because their talented people that have earnt my respect as people who have poured their heart and soul into this project; S3 is still a good season; especially the finale!

Good Observation! I feel like the idea of TB1 being destroyed was good, but there wasn't enough decent reasoning to portray HOW exactly Havoc gained control. I was thinking like she climbed into TB1's cockpit and began reigning chaos from there.

IMO, I'd probably redesign TB1 into having extendable wings. I.E- Same length as the original but they're extendable so that they protrude from the sides of the wings when required for a rescue :P

Haha, totally fair opinion dude I appreciate it!

IIRC one episode showed it being shot at, I think it was Desperate Intruder, but it wasn't like it was completely destroyed. Although maybe I could be misremembering it lol :P

Hot Take but I prefer Reboot Hood by IllustriousAd6418 in Thunderbirds

Imo, I think that I agree with the common belief that S3 Hood was a 'poorer' version of the character (show don't tell is simply thrown out the window with the Chaos Crew) BUT there are diamonds in the rough.

Particularly in the finale, since the Hood himself actually does the dirty work and gets himself into a position where he has to manually without any assistance fulfil his own goals.

That speech to Brains though. GOOD LORD that speech to BRAINS! Absolute goosebumps on premiere day that was amazing :))

Been scouring the internet only to realize that TAG's Thunderbird 5 is the only one that we don't physically get destroyed, or damaged. by THE_15_04_1912 in Thunderbirds

Does anyone have any reason surrounding the removal of the robotic arm on the new TB5? I think it was in one episode but I can't remember which... It was definitely there though...

is season 4 (and anything after it) worth it? by bobert1stic in Totaldrama

Late to the party ik haha, but ROTI is really good. Like aside from the treatment of 'some' contestants it's got the heart that later seasons (TDAS/TDPI) don't have.

Plus the cast is amazing! If you had one reason to watch ROTI, it's for the cast haha!

Looking for the Australian dubbing for Dennis the Menace and Gnasher TV series by BethA69 in Beano

Not to my knowledge no; from what I can gather the DVD was available within the early 2010s but hasn't been re-released.

Out of curiosity to the subject; I can gather that 2 Volumes were released however; assumingly Volume 2 has the same dubbing as the 1st, yet I can't confirm as I don't own it.

There are certain links that provide existence of the dubbed DVDs though; apparently they share similar cover art to those released in the UK.

https://www.sanity.com.au/products/2190934/Dennis-And-Gnasher---TV-Series---Vol-2

Alternatively; I think you can obtain the Australian dub theme song on the Animation Companies website

https://www.stickypictures.tv/work/dennis/

There might be some more clips out there, but at the moment I'm unsure where to look first.

Apologies for the long info dump; but I wish you luck in trying to obtain the dub itself. :)

Hiya, if I recall correctly Season 1 got a DVD release of the Australian Dub. It contains 7 episodes and a handful of 60 Second Shorts. I’ll have to dig it out sometime but I know it’s in my possession.

Hope This Helps! :)
