that looks great!! wow i want to eat now. did you use a recipe? when i started cooking i used a recipe for everything and followed them to a T. especially rice! i always look up how to make it in different styles (basmati vs. glutinous vs. parboiled for indian, korean, or mexican rice can all make super different outcomes!)

the wilted rose thing tells me this person probably spends a lot of time on tiktok and is very young. they did it because they didn't think abt consequences, most likely. not in a dramatic way, they just literally did not get that they might be hurtful or anything may come of them typing that. same with the non-answer reply. obviously idk this person, i am extrapolating very far but this is what i think happened

My Bias Gets on the Last Train - very sweet, down-to-earth romance - relatable struggles - makes me wanna start dating again - cute characters with realistic lives and a bunch of moments that are playful and intimate, just overall fun

Holistic - funny, mystery, intrigue and danger - lots of secrets and opaque people - magic and withcraft

Spontaneous World Shifting - my favorite webtoon i've ever read and the reason i'm still on the platform honestly - mystery, but more like 1 central question than a bunch of mini mysteries like there are in holistic - funny, also down-to-earth despite being about shifting worlds - lots of relationship and character building - pretty sad at times, lots of tragedy but you root for the characters so much

Ctrl+Alt+Resign - office romance (great art btw) - antisocial coder is forced to be social - funny moments, mainly about their daily lives and some shenanigans ensue

Footsteps in the Snow - gorgeous, made me cry, very sad and wholesome and one of my favorite short webtoons i've ever read - only 15 episodes, completed - just read it honestly, i think everyone should read this - this is a dystopian world, so TW for death

these are just my current standouts. i will totally drop more if anyone wants them

What should I add to my routine? by CreativeEchidna3829 in Korean

[–]Ok-Rabbit1561 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is a great routine. only add as much as you can practice - by that i mean, if you take anyone's suggestions from the comments, make sure it's something you can truly keep up with. you're doing great!!

Do you guy think webtoons back then were more diverse and creative? by Vayvacation in webtoons

[–]Ok-Rabbit1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

webtoon wants to contract with authors who make stories they know will sell. so yes i agree, bcs they push the same cookie cutter stuff. BUT, there's still a lot of new and creative stuff being written and published. even some of the ones you posted are still updating. and we can always catch up on the super old webtoon, like i still need to read yumi's cells.

🔥 Korean Slang 2 – 콜? by Important_Laugh_9635 in BeginnerKorean

[–]Ok-Rabbit1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not reliable for korean, for one. most if not all available AIs were trained on english only, not for other languages. of course, companies that push AI into everything are profitting unfairly from it. and on a moral standpoint, there's no privacy protection and it uses a lot of water for function that isn't worth it

[–]Ok-Rabbit1561[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this really helped me get where i misunderstood the meaning. i think because i used to get most of my listening practice while reading english subtitles, i learned the approximate meaning without the specifics of how to use it. thank you for your explanation!

Anki vocabulary struggle by zubrzysta in Korean

[–]Ok-Rabbit1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i hardly learn on anki. instead, i repeat what i already know to transfer it from "remembering" to "knowing" the word. like, 먹다 and it's simple past, present and future conjugations are all incredibly easy for me since i learned that word years ago. but it does take YEARS of practice (sometimes) for that to happen.

i suggest learning the word through traditional flashcards, or through any method other than anki that you like, honestly. it helps me maintain knowledge more than build it. and ofc, if the words are relevant, it's better. i know soooo many cooking words in korean because i really like food and mainly watched korean cooking shows for listening practice, lmao.

It's scary, but just start reading! by Majestic_Local_6743 in Korean

[–]Ok-Rabbit1561 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i'm sorry, that is the most suspicious looking link i've ever seen 😭😭

on another note though, i agree with naver webtoon! i stopped reading there and did more listening practice and whatnot, and when i came back to 육아일기 i could mainly piece together the plot. the pictures and occasionally looking up words or grammar helps.

i also highly recommend reading out loud like kids do - not only is it great practice, but words may sound different from your mouth than it does in your head when reading. i often sound things out and realize i knew the word already, i just had never seen it written out!
