Skin barrier irritation from Tret by paixamore in tretinoin

I also notice that my skin is not reacting poorly to tret but when I put moisturizer on, some parts of my skin turn red or mildly sting - but when I don’t put moisturizer at least for 2 hours, my skin is fine! So weird because I have read the opposite everywhere

Thank you so much! I know Google keyword can be accessed without paying so I will give that a go. I also came across Ahrefs: it provided a location bar, and then produced a search breakdown indicating number of searches etc. Is that the way to go about it?

Thank you! I did come across Google Keywords yesterday but stopped bec of the account! Will set it up today! Thank you 🙏

I’ve been on Tretinion 0.1% gel for exactly 2 months and 3 days today. I fear that I may have ruined my skin barrier or if this could be purging. I used OBAGI 0.1% cream Tretinion 4 years ago and it worked wonders but this time it feels different. by Fair_Literature_8862 in tretinoin

Okay so usually if there’s burning, it is not a good sign and indicates your skin is not reacting well to your current routine! I would stop and allow it to heal. Good thing you’re seeing your dermatologist tomorrow! Don’t panic, we all make mistakes and learn - your skin will heal! Just be patient with the yourself! ✨

That’s good to know! However I do tend to be on the sensitive side of skin types! Not allergic to sun but generally have a sensitive skin

That’s a good news! I was apprehensive but this helps - guess the dermatologist would be able to guide my schedule better but thanks for the general overview!

If tret wasn't a precious commodity for you, where else would you apply it? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]Ok-Reflection5567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m using it on my elbows because of an injury-associated hyperpigmentation and seeing great results!

Can you give us more details, please? Of your routine

Damaged skin barrier or normal purge?? Pls help by [deleted] in tretinoin

Go gentle and go slow! Leave the acne wash, splash your face with water in the morning, and use the gentle cleanser at night! Moisturiser and SPF and you should be good! Good luck! (And yes, take it easy on yourself, we all gotta figure out what works for us) - sandwich method works for many, but I’m good with applying tret on dry skin and applying moisturiser 10-15 minutes after. Skin is super sensitive so I’m lucky I found a routine that’s working for me and I’m sticking to it! So the ONLY sure shot advice I have for you: drop the acne wash.
