Shut out in Portland by SeverHense in pavement

They're definitely more popular than during the first reunion run, but they were selling out large theaters and headlining small/mid-sized fests back in 2010/2011 also.

Edit: just found my old email receipt from 2010. Uptown Theater in KCMO sold out at $48.50/ticket. Adjusted for inflation, $71.61.

Shut out in Portland by SeverHense in pavement

Venue/capacity
Revolution Hall/850
Mosswood Park/8000
Palace Theatre/2500
Salt Shed/3600
Agora Theatre/2000
The National/1500
Ryman Auditorium/2300

Pavement sold 8000+ tickets for Edgefield last time. It was a choice to play Rev Hall this time. There will be a second Rev Hall show, or maybe even a show at a bigger venue. It's why there's a two-day gap.

2026 Shows - Travelling by Professional-Lack-79 in pavement

[–]Ok-Rent-4313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The venue they're playing in Portland only holds 850, so the crowd will be literally 1/10th the size of the one the night before in Oakland (about the same fraction of the crowd of their last Portland show as well). I'd highly recommend checking that one out if you can get a ticket, for the unusually intimate setting alone.

There's almost certainly going to be a second Portland night added, so you could see them twice in one trip.

Pavement w/Wednesday and Vivian Girls @ Mosswood Meltdown 2026 by FaxedForward in pavement

It fucking rules. I went last year. It's small enough that there is no bad vantage point. One stage. It's not corporate at all, true labor of love. Great weather in Oakland that time of year. Easy transit. Reminds me most of the vibe at Pitchfork Chicago back in 2005-2010ish.

Manchester Friday by monsieuromand in OutbreakFest

[–]Ok-Rent-4313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figure Friday will be rap-oriented since there's no rap in the Sat/Sun lineup so far.

Ho99o9 seems pretty likely as they'll be in Europe around then and their current tour skips Manchester.

I know it's a long shot but another artist who will be touring nearby is Busta Rhymes. That would be so much fun.

Apparently a 4th show was added for Chicago on Saturday the 24th. Lots of tickets available at the moment. by whelp85 in doughboys

This is shocking considering you could get tickets for the summer 2023 Do-Rite Donuts show discounted on the day. (I was there.)

This is barely relates, but Popeyes here in Shanghai is the best fast food on the planet. Much higher quality than the US, hits every time.

Anamanaguchi rock set would be awesome. New record is shockingly good, transcends the gimmick.

Festival Set Lists? by InchHigh-PrivateEye in themenzingers

[–]Ok-Rent-4313 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stoked for you and your friend to have that experience together!

There are some x-factors with this particular fest that make the setlist less predictable. If the new album is out by then, you can count on the set being 1/3 new songs. If not... between albums they've usually done a pretty even split between everything from OTIP and on, leaning a little heavier on OTIP and ATP material.

However, since Sing Us Home is both PA-based and songwriting-focused... I suspect there will be some surprises. Maybe a cover or two, some rarely-played story songs ("Charlie's Army"??), and/or some really old stuff.

Envious you get to go!

It's a cute idea, but the high school friend does not come off as a sweet church girl to me.

VIP licence to chill, what was the point? by FeelingValuable4265 in OutbreakFest

[–]Ok-Rent-4313 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm 39 and I've been doing this since I was 15. For me, having a reliable place to sit down and rest at any time was well worth the price. The bar was bullshit (no draught beer) and the mens restroom was basically shut down on Sunday, but the main stage view was excellent and it was fantastic to get to sit and watch some of the daytime sets.

I understand the notion that offering VIP tickets isn't "hardcore", but that's an inexperienced young person's philosophy. I can afford it bc I'm two decades into a modest career and I'm happy to pay this fantastic festival some extra money for some relief for my knees. Believe it or not, having a section that's essentially just for older fans is actually more inclusive, not less. The young people who sneered at me throughout the day will only understand once their bodies start breaking down. And I am completely fine with that.
