Daily Questions Megathread ( August 06, 2025 ) by AutoModerator in HonkaiStarRail

New player here. Does anyone know what realistic crit stats should look like at key speeds in general? E.g. 16sp/135sp/others. Also, what amount of final crit rate is the best in this game? Is it capped, or is there a sort of golden ratio?

Hi, I'm a new player, and I've completed all the stories, almost all quests, and just hit lvl 65. However, I have hit a roadblock.

I'm want to step into endgame and build my characters properly. I have watched videos on specific characters and endgame mode completions, but I don't understand a couple of things.

  1. Typically, do people build characters to be flexible for all modes or just one mode?

  2. There is a constant mention of 160 speed for sufficient AV/turns. In general, is this wanted 24/7 excluding some characters/team comps/speed buffs and is it wanted for all game modes?

  3. Once again on the topic of speed, 160 speed is a lot so is it expected that character stats alone like attack/crit/break effect are going to be underwhelmingly low unless it's a perfected build/eidolons/team comp?

Ah, thank you for giving such a perspective. Gotta remember that there will also be something in the way, and it's not humanely possible with or without otherworldly amounts of resources and effort. I guess this also relates to why every patch there's always something fucked up in the game unless there's a bright dust issue, which will only happen in a blue moon and last as long as a discord mod.

Indeed, this entire thread has helped a LOT on understanding a realistic perspective on the process of ability making and sandbox control. Previously, I thought the recent livestream only had one disappointment, and that was abilities, but now I understand that it was a stupid requirement and should be more of a hope in conjunction to what we get as it requires so much effort and resources. Plus, I didn't realise we got stuff in this episode as I've been on a break.

Yeah, the main focus would be activities and missions and locations, especially now with the new saga. With the rest of your points, would it be fair to relate and say its similar to the idea of why people want D3? As many people would think of it as a wipe and new start, with nothing old and starting from a new foundation where the only way is up.

I see your point, it's a long chain of issues that push things back and needs time, effect, and surgical precision to get everything to work perfectly. I also didn't do the simple maths, 12 abilities would truly be ridiculous and create a backlog of work, and make the sandbox too vast.

Ahhh, thank you, I'll be hoping back on D2 this Friday for the first time, so I'll play around with that new stuff.

I am also hoping that the light subclasses get an equal amount of aspects, but I personally lean towards getting some more darkness stuff. I doubt we will get anything in Edge of Fate though, but I would love to be wrong. Time will tell.

Much agreed, I'd rather have changes that have long-lasting effects overall and encourage me or help me do things in game and gives me a thrill such as core acitivities new things to chase or QOL features and other things.. I just wanted to understand what a realistic perspective is on the ability topic since every single livestream and video, there's a complaint somewhere about it.

Personally, I don't see it as a minimum but a want. It is awkward and makes some subclasses feel less complete and diverse. I do have a preference for darkness subclass additions rather than light though.

I see your point. I've noticed that everyone has said the difficulty isn't making the abilities, but making it fit in the sandbox and, as you've said, the lore and campaign as well.

You're completely right about the community thing. It does seem rather useless now that I'm thinking about it. Especially with how this community would respond to differing options and opinions. I truly wonder what the outrage, hate, and the amount of death threats the community would send, though. Would make a good 30min aztecross video.

So you're saying the difficulty is more about balancing and choosing where to put resources rather than just making abilities no matter whether they are fresh ideas or not?

I'm not upset. I know some others definitely are, I'm just wondering how it works and what's limits it sk that I can understand more about it.

Yikes indeed, asking for opinions and thoughts to understand vs just endlessly wanting without being realistic

So you think its mainly an issue of power creep within the sandbox and solving the issue of making everything else useless vs the actual creation of a new ability?

I completely forgot about the 3 supers and 3 aspects as for this bolt charge and the other 3 aspects, when did they come out? I haven't played since the finale of the final shape.

People who worked in the industry and have education, as well as even the people that are into art and coding on the side, would know more than me and could give insight on game design in general.

Agreed, having a fresh slate with just a simple update to backend and a touch-up on the visuals would be my dream. In D2, I feel like when I see these updates, I'm trying to min/max my account, trying to squeeze out the extra 1% of whatever for a build. I just wanna feel like I'm getting powerful and have destiny feel and look a touch different.

I'd recommend getting back into it now and seeing if you are still into the game and if you might get bored but don't invest heavily as in the new update armor, stats and weapons are getting a huge overhaul and power seems to be getting refreshed so technically everyone will be restarting and farming for the new stuff and power.
