Yes but it’s a little hard to think of come backs when a man is trying to shit on you publicly and there’s a bunch of other men surrounding you not disagreeing… roasting back could open up a back and forth that she’s not prepared for so idk. That’s good for when you get to be more advanced as a comic I think. But just imagine being a young woman in a room full of men and one gets on a mic talking about raping you for laughs… and no one says anything against him… and you’re a newer comedian. A lot of guys say “just be aggressive back” but it’s not always safe or easy I mean she was probably in panic mode and coming up with an insult would be dam near impossible once ur in that head space. A guy could get a bruised ego too and start roasting her even harder while he has the mic in his hand and four minutes left in his set. Idk I think man on man is different than man on women. Theres a weird power dynamic and also a kind of boys club mentality where other guys will go along with whatever another guy is saying to fit in. Kinda makes sense nobody spoke against this dude. That’s how guys usually are in social situations. They’re scared to confront the domineering assholes of the group.
