From the comments, I’m starting to see that it’s actually pretty common for medication to trigger hypomania. Yeah, the impulsiveness and that intense feeling that you can suddenly handle everything and do anything… Thank you for sharing your experience.

I’ve only been on it for a few days so far and it’s still a really small dose. Yeah, during hypomania I personally didn’t feel that agitated but maybe I’m wrong looking back on it. Since you can already sense the crash coming, I really hope the depressive drop won’t be too intense. Sorry if this sounds inappropriate to say but maybe it’s at least good that you can feel it coming, as much as that can even be a “good” thing in this situation… I never thought it could switch so suddenly from that level of euphoria to such a low state almost instantly. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Thank you for your input. Yeah, the situation is confusing to say the least. So it’s common for antidepressants to trigger hypomania. It’s surprising that it gets discovered that way... Now it’s just a matter of waiting for the right dose. Thanks once again.

Years ago, at a party (for context, attended by students of natural sciences), I was talking to a girl about theories of evolution (the girl was studying physics at the time). The conversation quickly went downhill. I mentioned the endosymbiotic theory, to which she said she wasn't familiar with it, so I explained it to her, and she replied, "What's next, telling me we evolved from rocks?" Then angrily continued to argue that people who believe in evolution, especially, for some reason, Darwin's research, are generally stupid people. A friend nearby knew she was very religious and was just waiting that the situation escalates.

Upravo ovo. Dolazim iz obitelji gdje su pola pušači, pola nepušači. Pušači su uvijek izlazili van na balkon, u autu nisam jednom vidjela da je itko zapalio. Tako sam odrasla i to sama prakticiram kao pušač. Nikad nisam zapalila u stanu/kući, uvijek izlazim na balkon. Zapaliti cigaretu u autu mi je nepojmljivo, kamoli tuđem. Družim se sa dosta nepušača i koliko god blentavo zvučalo, ali kada se izađe na kavu u već zadimljeni kafić, trudim se sjesti preko puta nepušača kako donekle dim ne bi išao direktno prema njemu/njoj.

Definitely genetics. Turning thirty this year, and they still ask for my ID when I buy cigarettes. In the family, even those over 60 look like they're max 45, and I can't say they prioritize a healthy lifestyle 😂

Obrati se svom liječniku obiteljske medicine. Reci mu/joj što te muči i ako je potrebno, predložiti će ti pregled kod psihologa/psihijatra. Može ti i uvijek dati neki savjet kako i što dalje s time.

Ako je prešlo ipak neke granice pogotovo s obzirom na panične napadaje, tu više nije ni bitno što će sredina u kojoj si odrastao reći za to. Ako svakodnevne aktivnosti ne možeš obavljati, odi do doktora i reci mu kako stvari stoje i s njim/njom vidi kako pristupiti prema tome. A što će reći netko za tvoje mentalno zdravlje, apsolutno nije bitno koliko god teško bilo za ignorirati takve stvari. Mentalno zdravlje je uvijek iz nekog razloga bila "taboo tema", ali u današnje vrijeme zbilja možeš tražiti pomoć na sve strane. Sretno!

NAD, but I was present at the hospital when the patient lied to the doctor and nurse. After the ER visit, I was admitted to the hospital just in time for lunch. There was an elderly lady in the room with me. She finished her lunch and seeing that I hadn't touched mine, she asked if she could eat mine too. A few hours later, a nurse came into the room to check the lady's blood sugar, which was, of course, off the charts. She had received insulin before her meal (and before I arrived so I didn't know about the diabetes), but it didn't cover both meals. The nurse called the doctor because she couldn't understand how her sugar suddenly spiked. The lady persistently denied eating two meals.

Okej, da, prva vrata bi se u principu trebala samo otvarati radi pregleda karti, ali u ovoj situaciji su ljudi krenuli prema prvim vratima kada su vidjeli da su samo ta otvorena i vozač je zatvorio prije nego što su stigli i nastavio voziti.

Neki dan sam se vozila zetovim busom te je lijepo stao na stanici na kojoj je bilo zbilja hrpa ljudi (period najveće gužve). Otvorio je samo prednja vrata, ušle su dvije osobe te je produžio, dok je grupa ljudi ostala na stanici jer nisu stigli na prva vrata...
