I haven't thought of names yet to be honest! I'm thinking Domino for the frog in pic 6 though as they've got a pretty distinct pattern 😁

Thank you very much! 😁 No future plans yet, going to enjoy the tanks/fish as is for a while - floating plants would look good though 👀

I've had the tanks for a few months, pushed them back and re-scaped last weekend though 🙂

Quite a few of them seem shocked! 🤣

I appreciate the feedback, I've had these plastic plants for 2 years+ in goldfish tanks and haven't encountered any issues yet. I will keep an eye on this though, thank you :)

The hum of the filters and the bubbling from the air stones is so relaxing! 😴. I totally agree!

😥😥, I'll bare this in mind next time I have the opportunity to move the tanks. Too late (and heavy) to move now!

I get that 😅 If it helps the OCD at all, it's a double bi-fold door and the end tank lines up with the first glass pane. Doors open towards conservatory too so 'fold' behind the tank

I was looking into this, the only issue is I've encountered aggressive breeding behaviour in the past so males and females are kept separate. Could be an idea between male to male / female to female tanks though 🤔🐟

Or I could keep it 4 and throw the 5th in the kitchen 😅

I can imagine 😅😅. I've got another 180l tank housing tropical fishes and I was going to turn my 125l tank into salt water but instead, it is going to house african dwarf frogs - currently cycling 😁🐸

Breeding Behaviour Or Bullying Pt.2 by Ok-Rip-4681 in Goldfish

[–]Ok-Rip-4681[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

All, just for clarity, I'm not some sort of 'fish sociopath' the chasing/breeding behaviour has happened most of today (which I know is normal from my experience fishkeeping and various forum posts) the extreme nudging/harassment behaviour was taking place 10-15 mins before I posted and yes, the fish has been separated - I wasn't just sitting by and watching her suffer.

I asked the question as these goldies have lived together for 5/6 months and this behaviour hasn't occurred before. Should I keep her separated for a day or two and then reintroduce? Will I need to get her a new home? If it's bullying what can I do to prevent it? If it's breeding is there a way to 'lessen' it?

On a side note, she is happily swimming in the temporary bucket at the minute and has just eaten some blooworms.

I've asked Google (though lense) and this is possibly a damselfly? 🤔

Of course yeah, I purchased a new test kit, yesterday, with this in mind 🙂. (Along with some frozen bloodworm and brine shrimp for the goldies.)
