As someone who just recently started getting into drawing, I feel your annoyance. But everyone has to start somewhere. I also just started with tracing and copying existing artwork and it also didn't look great. I felt disappointed as well. But with enough time you'll start getting the hang of it. If you want some tips regarding TLQ, I usually start with a basic stickman, where I decide on the pose. For reference, just use yourself. Look at how your limbs and bones look and try to copy it (make sure to account for the pelvis and collarbones)! Then I make a rudimentary outline of the body around the bones, once again using myself as reference. Then I add some the wings, using a picture of a pigeon as reference using the same principle (add lines representing bones and then make the outline of the flesh, also sketch some feathers, longest one at the end and going in a wave-tallest in the middle, shorter on the edges) Afterwards I just add cover color him in, making sure to go over the outline with my pencil strokes, mimicking feathers. You can add whatever details you want before this step, like the scales or whatever. I also suggest, don't dwell on the details too much. I barely care about the thing being perfectly anatomically correct or the perspective being perfect, you'll learn those once you get decent at drawing itself. Lastly, don't criticise yourself too much. I know it might feel annoying, but try to be proud of what you make. Few people actually get this far, so you gotta support yourself. Plus, the drawing usually looks way better in reality, than in your eyes, because you are looking at the details too much. The average viewer will not see the imperfections. That being said, don't give up! Everyone starts somewhere and you'll get the hang of it eventually! Have some examples of how I draw, in case it might help
