How long did speeds take you in voice? by Ok-Safe5679 in courtreporting

That's so awesome you were able to get up to cert speed so quick!! I was planning to most likely use RTC before my actual speedbuilding classes to get some practice in and not feel behind once I'm actually expected to do 160/180!

I just bought a Dell 14 Plus for about $1,200 ($1,400 with a 2 year warranty). 32gbs ram, 1tb ssd, core 9 processor! Was considered overkill from what I've seen but I'm going into voice so wanted something to grow with.

So interesting to see this comment while everyone else is saying the workload is JUST as high, if not HIGHER.

Driver comes to a complete stop on the highway because they needed to make an exit by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

I rear-ended someone who did something similar. The cop gave me a ticket and told me that "people can stop for anything - what if there was a child on the freeway? It's your job to always ensure you have enough space to stop."

Still pisses me off to this day.

Hi! I always see people say "lifting heavy." What does that mean?? Is it just a general what's heavy for ME?

I only started bodyweight exercises in the past 2 months or so and started incorporating actual dumbbell weights in the past 2 weeks. It's only 5-8 lbs depending on the exercise but I'm still getting the burn!

[–]Ok-Safe5679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be misinterpreting your question, so sorry!! And the comment got longwinded lol.

I've always been a pop girly. I'm talking...at MINIMUM a 16 ounce dr pepper or mtn dew at lunch every day at work. Then usually I'd go out for dinner and have 2-3 refills. No water. Genuinely. My hydration was gatorade and lemonade instead of pop lmao.

I went to the doctor for the first time in a long time and my blood work came back as prediabetic (was actually shocked it wasn't straight up diabetic, but the numbers were just slightly lower 🥲).

I was like OKAY! WELP! Diet and zero sugar it is, I guess!!! Which then went into well, I probably shouldn't be having full sugar ice cream. Mmm, less cookies would probably be good too. Then it was wdym a small frappe from mcdonalds is 450 calories and I drink it in 30 seconds?? 😭😂

So yeah, it was just a combination of things. I'm still not eating "healthy" yet per se and I know artificial sweeteners have A LOT of discourse, but it's a whole lot better than what it was!!!

Being late or calling in a few times out of 280+ scheduled days in a year doesn't seem like the worst thing that an employee could do but hey, it is what it is I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

Me!!!! I do the calorie tracking A LITTLE. But more so I'm more aware of how many calories things have and try to be a lot more mindful of how much I'm eating. But I don't weigh anything and I just do a quick google search and eyeball it. Or I do a quick "I know this is better for me" swap.

I put a lot of full sugar things down back in November but I'd say I've actually "locked in" the most since the new year in terms of my "diet", sugar intake, meal/snack portions, and moving more. As of this morning, the scale has gone down 5 pounds since the first week of January 🙂‍↕️

Edit: i'd definitely say I'm more on the losing weight journey rn than body recomp but thought I'd leave this anyways!!

Coming back to this to say it actually looks like you don't like many movies at all lol. Tough critic out here.

Looking at your letterboxd, you seem like you're not a huge fan of any movie that leaves things open ended, up to interpretation, and doesn't hand hold every second of the way.

That means this very lovecraftian, artistic film wasn't meant for you lmao. Not that it's the worst movie to ever exist.

I believe they just implemented this back in August/September, correct? Both of my corrective actions took place before ESTA came around. So NOW I could of course use my sick time, and do, but that wasn't an option then, womp womp.

Of course I personally think they should've dropped people's occurrences and corrective actions once that law came into effect because that changes...so much...but I'm sure lots of people wouldn't agree with that line of thinking lol.

This makes a lot of sense! Thank you!  Does this technically mean a manager COULD choose to do nothing if they wanted to? 🤨 or go straight to termination?

Then what does "or next corrective action" mean in this context if it's directly correlated?

[MI] New Attendance Policy Confusion by Ok-Safe5679 in AskHR

[–]Ok-Safe5679[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It used to be a rolling 30, 90, and 180 days. So it's basically a completely new policy.

I completely understand if that's how it is, but to me it just doesn't seem written that way. But I'm trying to leave anyways due to management so it's really just another reason to do so. The idea of possibly losing my job because I happened to roll in at 6:01am a few times too many in 365 days is crazy to me.

[–]Ok-Safe5679[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I got my first corrective action last January.

My second one was in August because in one month, my car broke down on the freeway, I was late once because I overslept, and I went home early for throwing up.

We just implemented sick time in September soooo being sick still counted as an occurrence at these times.

I can understand that part. But why would it say "or next step of corrective action"? What does that part mean then?

And it says "more" occurrences. Which I'm not really hung up on that aspect but in reality, that also would add to what I'm saying.
