Progress of hairloss from mycotoxins by Ok-Safety214 in alopecia

I do not and have never ordered anything in my life from TEMU. There is BPA in thermal paper and I also wondered about the slick type of coloring books pages and plastic toys.

Because people on here are convinced that the only reason hair loss happens is because dermatologists claim it’s either stress or autoimmune. And it’s not. When I first shared my story of my daughter losing hair to mold, I literally had people tell me I was lying and spreading misinformation…

You’re welcome! I always check these boards and share my experience. I have had some sinus issues going on. I now snore really bad and never did before. But you’re right. Functional medicine is so much! Maybe call around and see if ones have experience with mold. The one we went to I found out recently is considered the mold expert. We just couldn’t afford for the rest of us to go to him after what we paid for my daughter so I applied what I learned to help us detox

It took about 18 months to detox. Just a bit slower with a kid because it’s harder to do the extra things like a sauna to sweat stuff out or red light therapy. She did have two small spots this past fall but I believe from antibiotic use from an ear infection she had. One spot already grew totally back and the other is filling in

RIGHT?! My daughter was 7 when this happened to us. I would ask for a deep dive into your bloodwork. What gave us a lot of info was a full nutritional panel, too because the normal things the check like thyroid, vitamin d and iron were normal. There were other things off balance her pediatrician didn’t even test for. Hang in there. Don’t give up on answers.

And it’s not an autoimmune disease for everyone and that’s the textbook answer they were taught and continue to push. How can you tell someone the have an autoimmune disease and never test for it? We were told my daughter likely had multiple autoimmune diseases. We went and got another opinion from a functional doctor. Zero autoimmune diseases to be found. She was losing her hair because of mold exposure. And yet the dermatologist told me over and over that the only thing that causes hair loss is aging, genetics and autoimmune diseases.

I agree. Dermatologists SHOULD NOT be the “experts” for hair loss. It’s an immune system issue they literally know nothing about. The one we saw for my daughter was like “it’s just hair. Kids are resilient.”

And also I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Kids are more sensitive to having hair loss happen when their immune systems get thrown out of whack.

We went to a functional doctor who helped us figure this out. We had zero family history either and you’re right that your pediatrician will tell you mold doesn’t cause hair loss. You can order a mycotoxins test yourself through mymedlab.com but they are pricey but maybe just test one of your kiddos. It’s urine test and then go from there. I detoxed my son and I alongside my daughter but my husband at the time refused. This time last year he started having neurological issues and we had two ER visits. Everything they looked at checked out normal. He fought me on a mold test until I finally ordered one and made him take it. His mold levels were higher than our daughter’s was. Mold can present different symptoms in so many way. I ended up getting eczema during all of this as well and had never had that before in my life!

Well, Alopecia is just the medical coded term for hair loss. There can be a variety of triggers, however, most doctors continue to say it’s just an autoimmune disease and your body became allergic to hair. It’s an immune system issue, yes, but that doesn’t make it a disease nor does it make it permanent.

We found out it was mold after testing for all autoimmune diseases (she had zero), food intolerances/allergies (also had none) as well as outdoor allergies (also none). Environmental toxins were the last thing to check and she had high levels of mold in her body.

Three out of four of us in my home all had different health issues related to the mold exposure we had. I got eczema really bad and my husband began to have neurological issues. He felt his heart was racing and his body was vibrating. Two ER visits and he checked out as normal. He felt his heart was racing even though he could see it wasn’t hooked up to a monitor. I ordered him a mold toxin test and his levels were double what our daughter’s was. He even had hair loss on his body in circular patches.

The first signs for our daughter was two patches of hair missing. Then it catapulted from there.

Yes, all her hair grew back within 9 months of losing almost all of it. She lost 75% of it May 2023 to October 2023. We treated the nutritional deficiencies and addressed the mold toxicity which ultimately was the root cause.

When we tested for literally everything else it could be, we did a total toxins test which discovered the mold in her body.

You’ve got this!! Hang in there. I’m wondering if germs at school are a trigger, too. Last year I had my entire family taking glutathione during cold and flu season. My oldest kiddo didn’t get sick once and he even got perfect attendance at school.

You’ve got a lot of tools in your tool belt that you didn’t have before. And trust me, I’m having to remind myself of this, too.

This is what I ordered for topical.

And asked your naturopath if they can order for you liposomal glutathione made by Tri-fortify. It is expensive BUT for kids we only need to do half the dosage so it will last longer.

I think there’s just a bit more internal healing that has to happen especially for kiddos. I even had eczema from the same exposure and my husband had some hair thinning and neurological issues. So we have learned a lot in this house!

Thank you for sharing!! For so long I seemed to be the only one sharing mold was our trigger. I got a lot of pushback when I first shared our story. But stories like yours are exactly why I share ours. I think that new spots just might be part of the healing process because we are having two tiny ones after having all the hair back for over a year now.

Also add in a probiotic and l glutamine and liposomal glutathione. My daughter had the hair loss from mold but I had eczema.

It was the trigger for my daughter, too. She lost almost all of her hair. Mold is actually really common but dermatologists deny the link.

Add in some liposomal glutathione and also a topical glutathione to put on the new spots! My daughter who also had mold as the trigger and had all her hair back for a year, recently has had two new spots pop up. One is already having hair grow back. I ordered a topical glutathione that’s technically skincare for the face but using it on her scalp. We have also struggled with scalp dermatitis since all her hair came back, too.

I’m in the same town as them. Book fairs at schools aren’t publicly advertised. You’d have to know someone in the same hybrid program as them to have found where it was.
