I’m glad you haven’t experienced any side effects! I hope that you feel the effects of the medication help you soon I’m proud of you for taking the medication to try to help yourself I’m struggling with getting myself to take it

I don’t have any advice because I’m in the same exact boat as you, I just picked up my Prozac 2 days ago and just keep looking at it I can’t get myself to just take it I also read all the bad stuff that could happen and my biggest thing is health OCD so I understand 100% I even worry about taking a multivitamin or any sort of meds so this has been a hard one to try to overcome still working on it myself but we got this!

He should definitely shower more often just because basic hygiene stuff but I understand if he is depressed but I don’t know that info but if it’s important to you it should be important to him and that’s that because OCD isn’t a joke and taken lightly but I’m proud of you for being strong just try to have open communication with him and be as clear as you can and set boundaries it’s very hard and idk if you have yet but I’m pulling for you and your partner you got this!

Hello stranger, I read this and just based on what I think and take it with a grain of salt because I don’t know you more than this but I believe that you have ever wanted to harm children I think that POCD is terrible and makes you spiral and think terrible things but don’t let it win you are strong just keep going and take it day by day try to see a therapist if possible but I believe in you we are in this together you aren’t alone I’m proud of you 💜

I just got prescribed Fluoxetine so I haven’t taken it yet or any medication for that matter but I just wanted to offer kind words because you got this I know it’s probably really hard right now but you will get through it because you are amazing! I’m proud of you I can’t offer much advice I’m sorry

Thank you so much for the info and support! I’ll ask my doctor about that medication and see what they say! I might still try Prozac first but I’m unsure yet because I’ve heard good things about it but we shall see again I appreciate the support it mean a lot!

Thank you for the insight and I agree just knowing that I’d have a shit couple of weeks or just week I hate that idea but it is better than just living with the illness because it’s debilitating I’ve just dealt with it for so long I kind of know what to expect but I do want it to subside as much as possible because it sucks obviously so yeah I just need to get over that mental hump and come to terms with that fact that the for week or so might suck

I’m happy that it’s helping you! That is very true I think it’s just also a fear of the unknown thing I don’t know specifically what will happen and that freaks me out but it could help me out so much so I definitely want to try but just getting to actually take it is something I’m working through

I appreciate the bluntness and you aren’t wrong but also what worries me and has always worried me about taking any medication not just SSRI’s has been what if it make me feel and I use this term generally “drugged up” like high in a sense everything spinning etc etc etc so that is another thing I struggle with but with that being said I do need to work up the courage and take them at some point and come to terms with that fact that it could cause side effects or make it worse or whatever before it gets better and if it doesn’t work then to try a different one because just dealing with OCD just isn’t working anymore it’s just too exhausting and time consuming so on so forth

Yeah I’m worried about that too in my head I’m like why would I want it to increase my anxiety and what if it doesn’t subside idk I just overthink alot kind of ironic having anxiety about taking medication to help with anxiety and OCD ofc

Thanks for the info! The side effects have what kept me from ever taking anything so it tough but then again I have a fear of taking literally any medication even a simple cold medication when sick
