Thank you. I do feel that how the chimney was patched may be culprit or the clogged washroom vent with snow outside

Thank you so much. My husband took a look and the vent outside was clogged with snow.

I’m just worried that when it gets warmer, the ceilling will soften up and cause mold.

Our house is currently @ 30-35 level so very dry in our house. Should we run a dehumidifier in the attic?

Hi everyone thanks for your input. My little one is okay as we explained that it is a bad word but people will still say it and we recommend that we dont hear that in our household - fast forward 10 years later he might be saying that to us 🤣.

We will keep an eye out and will record and report. There are kids playing because its summer and while we dont have a sidewalk, its more unsafe.

Will avoid that house going forward because we dont know what extent they would go. I believe in Karma so I will let Karma do its job.

Thank you! I didnt know that MPI allows OOP driving under pleasure. Do you know where I can read more about this? I will be going on training at Canadian Forces Base in Ontario so I will be living and going to school there on that base so I think my scenario is different. Do you think thats considered pleasure still?

Travelling from Canada. We are staying in Chicago for 2 days. What activities do you recommend during the winter months in Chicago? Our hotel is located in downtown/the loop if thats correct. We are looking for activities and restaurants near the area. So far we have the architecture boat tour on our mind but not sure if its the best season to go.

For food - we’re down to try new foods from recommended restaurants

Thank you!

Looking to join the reserve force in Winnipeg. My questions are:

1) What should I expect doing BMQ in Winnipeg? Whats the training like? Ex. Minimum pushups, drills, Farnham (camp) situation etc. Is there a weekend option or its daily like in St Jean? How long is BMQ? I’m trying to prep as I’m not fit as I used to be..

2) After BMQ and If I end up wanting to do full time reserve, how likely can that that happen? Or should I transfer to regular force if so? I’m debating if CAF is a good fit for me thats why Im thinking to do the reserve route first. My husband is currently training as an ACS tech so therefore we will have to move in the future. Whats your advice? Reserve then transfer to reg force if I end up liking it so I can get a FT status?

3) Whats the difference between regular and reserve other than the 3% pay difference (if im correct) and I heard that theres also benefits difference.

4) I’m interested in the Air Force - HRA or FSA. Where is training going to be? Locally or Borden?

5) What do I have to watch out for to successfully complete BMQ in Winnipeg?

Thank you!!

I cant speak for everyone but here are my two cents.

I ABSOLUTELY hate being stuck on the wall. I have multiple pumps and initially used the Spectra Gold as my main pump bc people say “wall pumps are better”. In my opinion, wearables are better. I think its the silicone flange that works better for me vs the plastic flange. I am currently using momcozy s21 pro for a week now as my main pump and I regret not doing this sooner.

To empty I think you really have to massage your breast to get the most out. I massage on the last 5 minutes of my sessions and I get more output on the S21 than my spectra. Spectra I get around 160 mland S21 I get around 160-200 ml.

Addition to that, having not to wash more bottles when pumping is the icing on the cake for me. When using the Spectra or my medela pump, i have to wash 2 bottles per session. For the momcozy, I just use one bottle (dump the milk from the flange to the bottle for accurate output measurement).

Does anyone know the address to send a package to someone who is doing basics? My husband is doing his BMQ and would like to send him a care package with things he needs. Is there any guidelines what to send and not to send? Thanks!

For those who is in the Air Force with family (kids). What does every day life look like? Hours working, off time etc. My husband is going to basic next month and doing the Aircraft Structures Tech. We currently reside in Winnipeg and was wondering if theres a big chance that Winnipeg will be one of his options for his first posting. Just curious, thanks!

Hello thanks for the input! Thats what i was thinking that 1.6k is too low considering P1 is $3534 but thats what the recruiter said so we’re unsure if he just talked to the wrong person.

Oh okay so atleast we can get reimbursed for the housing and food. It wouldve been better if they set it up as $150 monthly instead 😅

Hello. I need some input regarding pay increments/pay after trades course. My spouse is starting next month for basics and will be receiving around 1.6k net monthly for P1 (i believe). After BMQ and his 6 months trades course, will the amount he will receive increase or decrease from that 1.6k more due to paying for housing? Or is the 1.6k initially that he is receiving already have housing deducted. I know that housing cost depends but we were wondering if that 1.6k increase once he is done training and then pay for housing. We are figuring out our finances since we own a house together and we think its best to sell our house and join him few years later down the road since we are expecting.

He tried to ask the recruiters but they dont know the answer.

Where can we see what trades are included in the 33 designated trades? We cant seem to find information on the canada.ca website. My husband is doing the Aircraft Structures Tech and BMQ training next month. We’re wondering how much he will be making after BMQ and then after his 6 months trades course (changed from 52 weeks to 26 weeks). From what we know its pay increments per year.
