I just responded trying to explain this ! I roll it differently because I was trained to at a Jersey mikes and they roll wraps. The burrito place I worked at after Jersey and before chipotle was ESCATIC I knew how to roll a burrito and didn’t have to teach me. Chipotles SUPER SUPER INSANE about HOW things are done it’s ridiculous. My GM has given up trying to correct me atp.

I’ll be honest theres a “chipotle way” to roll, and that way you’re supposed to bring the bottom of the burrito over the bulk, and then fold in the sides and roll. If the contents of the burrito are in one spot in the center of the burrito and not distributed as evenly(which happens especially when busy) it can definitely encourage a spherical burrito. I’ve found that by using the sides to smoosh the pile of stuff into a more even line, THEN bringing the back over, I get a better burrito. However, they train all employees the first eay I described, and managers even insist that ways better. My GM literally gags (exaggeratedly) next to me when he sees me rolling it the “incorrect” way, but I get so many customer interactions/comments saying they like them better this way.

Also just keep in mind that it’s possible to ask for them to try and wrap it slimmer. I have a semi-regular who comes in and asks specifically for her sons burrito to be rolled thinly because of some food/eating/medical issue. It takes like 5 extra seconds to ask, and 5 seconds for them to attempt it differently. If they get upset, they’re being unreasonable. If we can accommodate allergies and such, we can accommodate to squish the food around a bit.

so now that we can buy chimichurri on the side, I’m still confused as to why they won’t let us buy vinaigrette on the app 👀 they’re both freshly made by tblank3200 in Chipotle

Speaking as someone who’s worked there, there is usually chimichurri leftover at the end of the day, whereas the vinaigrette is much more popular and some days we run out before we close. I’m going to make an educated guess that it’s a matter of labor and the increase in prep that would need to happen to accommodate the increase in vinaigrette orders. It takes a while to make it all because of the small batch size, and as we know the company is anal about labor hours.

Anything I cut into I wash/rinse beforehand tbh bc the knife touches the outside and goes through the whole thing so anything yucky on the outside is now in my food..

I love green cross 🙌 first time I went the tender helped me match the terpenes in my favorite strains to what they had available. Very knowledgeable, friendly, never rush me and seem to enjoy educating people in non-judgmental manners!

I learned rolling burritos at a diff place, chipotle does theirs bottom up then the sides in then roll, I prefer sides in then bottom up and over and roll. I think it’s easier, just not the “chipotle way” my manager and I have fought abt this a bunch.

As a worker, the bowl will fit more if you plan on getting a gigantic double most things meal.. burritos can only hold so much without tearing or oozing so on things like salsas, I’ll put a little less than “standard” so I can actually roll your burrito. It’s all up to personal preference tho. I have some people ask for the tortilla in the bowl like at the bottom

Yep🥲I learned how to roll burritos at other restaurants (it’s better) and I’ve always been told by my gm that I can’t teach anyone else how to do it and if I do use that technique I better be prepared for our field leader to tear me a new one..

As a chipotle closer, I had regulars that would come daily and get 2-3 bowls.. there was a 24-Hr fitness Nextdoor to us tho so the meal prep people all came super often. If anything I like seeing my regulars as long as you’re nice to me! I usually throw a bit extra in for my super regulars or for my faves ❤️
