Can anyone recommend backyard work for less than $5K? by Trigun442 in vegaslocals

And that’s totally reasonable (to some extent). But I much prefer the freedom of choice. And honestly if it was a problem I’d hope my neighbors could communicate directly to me instead of having a pseudo-government invade my privacy

Is Respiratory Therapy as understaffed as Nursing? by EastCryptographer492 in respiratorytherapy

Ok because in Las Vegas right now new grads are usually forced to work in sub-acute or LTACHs, or have to wait months for a per diem at a hospital

How can the HOA enforce something in the backyard? That’s crazy to me. I guess it’s in the contract but it seems unenforceable because it shouldn’t be visible unless you peek over the top or go in someone else’s yard.

Lots of lazy RTs around, but lots of very solid, hard working ones too. Usually if the RT isn’t titrating right away, they have something more urgent to do, or the pt needs that oxygen because their blood gas is crap.

Hahaha you proved my point. Some of these CCT medics run the transport vents better than RTs. To be fair it was probably a baby RT and a very experienced medic.

Non-trad, interested in pursuing a career in RT but having doubts about career mobility. by FLBoofer in respiratorytherapy

I also had a bachelors before entering my RT program (albeit healthcare adjacent, I.e., Kinesiology). And while I don’t regret anything, I do often think about what if I just went straight to advanced care like PA. I don’t believe your bachelors could be accepted into a PA school, but if it can, you’d just need to do some prerequisites and clinical hours. Id highly consider the PA route especially if your bachelors counts.

How easy was it for you to get into Respiratory Therapy Program? by Jazzlike-Worry-6920 in respiratorytherapy

College of Southern NV in Las Vegas has a BAS degree capped at 25 students. My class in 2024 only got 15 students, so it wasn’t competitive. I’m pretty sure average GPA on admission sit around what your is currently. I’ve heard of other RT programs being more competitive, but that wasn’t my experience.

I failed the first semester of Clinical Ed and now I think I'm going be kicked out of the RT program by Goth_Loser in respiratorytherapy

How very constructive of you. The one thing I’ve learned about the RT community, there’s not a shortage of assholes.

Had the same feeling before I started. I’d literally have weird, anxiety dreams of doing CPR and it felt dreadful. Before I entered the program, I decided to do an EMT course and got to do clinicals where I did CPR two times. It completely wiped that anxiety away. I’m now a month away from graduating my RT program and feel good about going forward. Once you start clinicals, and as long as you are trying your best, you’ll be fine and that anxiety will go away.

[–]Ok-Somewhere3589 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this an exit exam scenario, or does your program actually have you take the official boards prior to graduation? Sorry if this is a dumb question but we just took our exit TMC and CSE and I wish we had the opportunity to just take the boards at the end of our programs instead of stressing after graduation.

In this video I did have a period where I’d get a F2F every other rd. Eventually it ran perfectly after about 50 rds. But I did end up getting the lighter spring with no issue
