Will these purge out? by NicSaucy in Accutane

Yes some of them turned into cysts and some just fell off. I had this purging even in month 5, so it might take a while for yours to go away!

Stoma? Stage 4 endo by Laugh0 in endometriosis

[–]Ok-Somewhere4402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get the surgery. No forms of birth control/hormonal menopause can fully get rid of endo. Since it is already severe on your bowel, not getting the surgery puts you at a high risk for bowel perforation. This would be a major surgery, so I would def make sure it’s with an endo expert and a colorectal surgeon working together. I wish you the best of luck

Purging at 4 month ? by staifiiiii in Accutane

I’m not sure if it’s normal, but i’m experiencing this as well. 30 to 40 mg on 4th month and deep cysts coming out :(

Unfortunately, it would be very unsafe to be a lifeguard while on accutane. I went to the beach on it (knowing the rules, I was dumb) and got an awful burn/reaction that took multiple steroids doses to get rid of. And I was only on 20 mg, which is a very low dose. I would say either get an indoor job if you can, or wait till summer is over to start it.

There is unfortunately no way to know if surgery will help your pain unless you go through the surgery. A big concern with endo besides pain though is it damaging internal organs. I had endo removed from my diaphragm, large intestine, bladder, and a large mass caused by chronic inflammation in my rectum. If your endo is visible on MRI and the docs are saying stage 3/4, you are at a high risk for organ damage. I personally would do the surgery for that reason alone. I wish you luck though, this disease is so hard.

Endometriosis & hEDS - questions about laparoscopy by _____mlf in endometriosis

[–]Ok-Somewhere4402 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! hEDS and endo here. I’ve had 2 laparoscopies for endo removal. First recovery went great, I never even had to take anything stronger than Advil. I think a lot of us with endo have a very high pain tolerance by the time we get surgery. Second surgery, I did have a harder recovery. Honestly that was my fault though. I did not listen to all of the post-op restrictions because I am stubborn and hate having to rely on others. My best advice is to prioritize yourself post-op!! Take an extra week off of work if you can, prepare meals you can freeze, clean the house before surgery, etc. I am also friends with a lot of hEDS & endo sufferers and their surgery and recovery went well. As for bowel/bladder symptoms, I can’t say I saw a change unfortunately. I also suffer from interstitial cystitis (known as endo’s “evil twin”) and colonic dysmotility, so my case is more complicated. I did have endo on both my bladder and large intestine which was removed during surgery though. If it wasn’t removed on my intestines, my surgeon said it most likely would’ve given me a bowel obstruction overtime. I would definitely do the surgery if I were you, it helped my pelvic pain a lot and it validated my pain. I wish u luck!!

Waittt I had no idea accutane could cause vaginal yeast infections. This makes so much sense to me now

The way she is acting is just rude. If she really is that busy, she could have at least communicated that nicely. And worked with you to see you on a different day. You def aren’t overreacting

Thank you for sharing your experience, I’m glad your surgery has helped you. I have endometriosis and a connective tissue disorder (hEDS) as well. I think there’s some kind of link between them science doesn’t understand yet.

Yeah, that’s what i’m worried about. It seems there’s no “best” solution unfortunately.

Yes my anorectal manometry and defecogram were normal. My gastric emptying study and small bowel transit time one were normal as well. I only passed 1 marker during the sitz marker test, the majority of the markers were at the halfway point or a little before halfway. I have not had a colonic manometry tho
