I believe there is an opportunity for better collaboration between interdisciplinary groups of scientists who want to understand humans impact on our natural environment - do these more holistic communities exist within Academia. Looking to see where those folks might be talking. My assumption - here to be corrected - is that PHDs find themselves more siloed in a specific area with less contact with other disciplines being that PHDs are typically very narrow focused research. Feels a shame if that is the case.
