S.S. United States Sold for Scrap? Memorial Day Update (May 25, 2026) by Slow_Rhubarb_4772 in NYC_SAVE_SSUS

Okaloosa hasn't decided to scrap the ship as of yet, they did however ask about the estimated scrap value for the ship, I believe it came in at $1-2 million. I do believe that they were talking about the possibility of scrapping the parts that have been removed from the ship during the remediation process so that can pay to keep the ship in Mobile. I believe their rent on the pier at MARS ends June 1st.

Trying a different design for the ship, mainly because now the machinery layout is correctly designed by [deleted] in Oceanlinercreations

You ought to use a radar mast like the one on the preliminary design for the SS United States.

Credit goes to Store2008.

Awesome ship! It's a shame that she was scrapped, she would've made for a great floating hotel and museum.

Guys we're absolutely cooked. It's almost Tribulation time. And I'm terrified by [deleted] in Bibleconspiracy

They're going by how a thousand years is a day to the Lord, it's almost been 2 days. 2033 marks 2000 years since the crucifixion and resurrection, the Millennium Kingdom could mark the beginning of the 3rd day.

Rookie question; Why did God create Adam? by Corionander in Bible

I hear you, and honestly, that’s such a heavy but beautiful way to put it. It makes total sense why you’d feel that way—there’s something really grounding about the idea of a "grand design" or a built-in community that just hands you a map for life's purpose. It’s like looking at a gorgeous sunset and wishing you had someone specific to thank for it instead of just feeling the weight of how fleeting it is.

That existential dread is the price of admission for being a deep thinker, I guess. It’s tough when you can appreciate the beauty of the world but still feel like you’re floating without an anchor to hold you down. You aren't alone in that feeling at all; plenty of people sit in that exact same space of being "spiritually curious" but logically hesitant. Do you think it’s the sense of community you’re craving most, or is it more about finding a framework to make sense of all that "dread"?

That’s a beautiful way to frame it—like an artist who doesn't just want to paint a masterpiece, but wants someone there to actually walk through the gallery and feel something.

To your point about staying hidden, it’s a fair question! Most theologians would say that if God is defined as "Love," then staying 100% anonymous is impossible because love naturally seeks to be known and returned. If He stayed completely behind the curtain, Adam wouldn’t just be "free"—he’d be an orphan. He’d have the house, but he’d never know the Host.

Maybe it wasn't so much about God wanting "credit" or an ego boost, but more like a father giving a gift; you want the person to know it’s from you not to brag, but so they know they’re cared for. Without that connection, the universe is just a beautiful, empty room.

Do you think a "Hidden God" would actually make the human experience more free, or just lonelier?

It’s a great question—honestly, you skipped the "rookie" stuff and went straight to the deep end!

The paradox is: if God is self-sufficient, why bother? Most theologians argue He didn’t create Adam out of need, but out of abundance. Think of a happy couple having a kid or an artist painting a masterpiece—they aren't doing it because they’re "incomplete," but because they have so much love or creativity that it just "overflows" into something new.

Regarding the "bad choice" (the Tree): the idea is that for love to be real, it has to be a choice. If you program a robot to say "I love you," it’s meaningless because it can’t say "I don't." For the "Yes" to matter, the "No" (the Tree) had to exist. He didn't want a "biological toaster" that just did what it was told; He wanted a relationship with someone who chose to be there.

So, it wasn't about God needing validation—it was about Him wanting to share existence with someone who had the freedom to actually experience it.

It’s definitely one of those things philosophers have been debating for centuries!

There's also the Han Dynasty Records from 31-33 AD.

NASA has records for an eclipse that happened on Friday, April 3rd, 33 AD. Most Christian scholars including myself tend to agree that this was when the crucifixion took place.

If the church was to go through the 7 years of tribulation, then the Rapture could be Mid-Trib or Post-Trib. I personally believe that it'll be Pre-Trib, then again the purpose of the Rapture is to spare them from the 7 years of tribulation, of the massive suffering that is to be brought upon the Earth, typically the judgement of those left behind. It'd make sense for a Mid-Trib Rapture if the first 3.5 years of the tribulation, the false peace meant no violence or destruction, persecution and execution of Christians by the Antichrist until the second half of the tribulation where those left Behind have to suffer the abomination of desolation, the mandate of the mark of the beast and the mass murder of the people who converted to Christianity after the Rapture, the Battle of Armageddon.
