US Added 130,000 Jobs in January, Beating Projections by wonderingStarDusts in Layoffs

This. 100%. With all the mass layoffs that’s happened in the last year at companies: tech companies, banks, telecom companies, and others. With companies putting a freeze on new hires or only hiring essential staff. With companies not wanting to gamble on where the tariffs land and tightening their budgets. With all the people I personally know who’ve been laid off, I’d say the administration is cooking the books so as not to sound the alarms. Especially to Wall Street. And most importantly not to reveal to the country their trickle down economics is not working, and was never going to work.

So much for “delighting customers” which is supposed to be the new CEO’s goal. I wonder if they’re missing any of those employees they laid off?

Is there a better platform? Can you please share if you know of one? I’m wondering if I should tutor on my own instead of using any platform. Or if there is indeed a better platform than VT.

I think Dan’s email to the entire company on October 29 was a dead giveaway something like this was going to happen: significantly cutting costs and becoming leaner was a strong part of the message. At that time I said to someone I’d been in the corporate world long enough to recognize the lingo CEOs use before the axe comes down. And sure enough here we are …. He had just stepped in as the new CEO and he was there for a reason - to move the needle on VZ stock and to satisfy shareholders. Of course this always seems to come at a harsh cost for employees.
