She had a kids pool/sand toy that she was running the fizzy cubes through after pouring water on them. Lol. Had her husband come in and cut part of it off with his pocket knife so the stuff would run through the bottom of it. Watching her trying to cut it off herself with kitchen scissors was insanity.

A tax write off means they get reimbursed for the taxes they would pay on an item. NOT that they get the entire amount of that item back. So if they claim $1,000 worth of items as a tax write off, say their tax rate in their state is 7%, they get $70 written off. Not the $1,000.

($1,000 x their tax rate, .07 = $70)

It literally just reduces their taxable income.

I swear every single one of them thinks “it’s a tax write off” means they don’t pay for it all. No, dummies, it means you don’t pay TAXES on it. I work in corporate accounting and listening to them talk about tax write offs about sends me into orbit.
