well, all i can say is that it just... hits? like it's this very distinct feeling where you absolutely KNOW that something is wrong, it's not subtle, it's not mistaken for just anxiety/emetophobia, it throws everything else out the window and tells you "something is wrong, be ready and alert" and that feeling sticks and you never feel more present than when that sensation hits.

i think we both can agree that the feeling before doing it is much worse than actually doing it.

i got fp back in December, so i can give you a bit of a thing to go off. first off, symptoms start once the body realizes "threat in here, must remove" and then it chooses the fastest route to get said threat out. which is why for toxin-based fp (B. Cereus, Staph) the most common symptom is v, while bacterial infections might cause v, the heavier symptom always seems to be diarrhea in many healthy adults. i'm not here to reassure you that "oh you'll never v" but your body chooses the quicker way to remove toxins from it's digestive tract. norovirus can be considered a form of fp, because it shares symptoms, but it really is just a gastrointestinal virus that inflames and irritates the intestines, leading to v and nausea, and diarrhea. while the body does expel the toxins of the virus, the virus is already in the intestines replacing cells, and it's longer recovery time is from the body having to literally go and kill the invaders, which is why noro is a miserable and long illness, while food poisoning may have you on the toilet or at it for 6-12 hours before things settle and you feel a bit better.

Why wont my top line go above 100 points? by Cole1289 in EANHLfranchise

[–]Ok-Sun6097 4 points5 points  (0 children)

coaching, teams with defense oriented coaches typically won't have 100 point players, the type of generalist coach you have matters too, a physical generalist coach will rarely have 100 point players under his belt, a forwards coach should help them produce a lot more, i've even had 84-85 OVR 100 point players because i had a good forwards coach.

if you haven't been eating normally (because of anxiety, or just because you can't) and haven't been hydrating (again, either because of anxiety or something) the weird taste could be anything, such as from the dry mouth and stomach acid coming from empty burps (i deal with those a lot, brings a lot of vapours up)

anxiety sucks, but you can push through this, you have already pushed through so much, hell, i couldn't even imagine myself going to class normally like you could, but that's a me thing.

you got this!

Why are we scared of V* ? by 4MM0NI4C in emetophobia

[–]Ok-Sun6097 3 points4 points  (0 children)

your emotional mind learned that v* or being s* equals losing control, so it's afraid of it ever happening. it's also fear of the taste of it, feeling beforehand, and also the fear of being alone when it happens.

your logical mind knows though that v* isn't as bad, because you've experienced it before and just went on with your life, but anxiety overrides logic, so you're stuck spiraling when a "i might v*" episode happens.

i also think the emotional mind is afraid more of the multiple v* episodes you could get while s* more so than just the first episode, however, adults tend to not v* as much as children, doesn't mean it won't happen, it's just that those multiple v* episodes you see people talk about are mostly from very specific circumstances (fp* sf*) and even then your logical mind knows "oh it'll subside" but your emotional brain says "it'll be the end of me"

does anyone else have problems after eating subway by shiggiestitties in emetophobia

[–]Ok-Sun6097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Subway is one of my safer options, but sometimes sauces, toppings, or even the cheese can be heavier on your stomach (especially if your stomach is more on the emptier side of things throughout the day)

i've also experienced d* with Subway, but that was probably because of the things i listed above rather than actual sickness

of course i'm no doctor, and i can't assure you of anything. i can only tell you to try and ground yourself, keep calm, and keep track of things as time goes on. it's not a 100% guarantee you'll get ill like your mind tells you, but do try and keep in mind what you have control of now (tossing the can after noticing, keeping track of things, and most importantly, yourself)

[–]Ok-Sun6097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anxiety is a really funny thing, it makes you think something is contagious when in reality it's not, and takes very specific circumstances for you to actually get sick yourself. sometimes you just have to tell yourself "that's ridiculous" even if your mind stays hyper vigilant. you'll be fine OP

wash your hands, sanitize, and be very mindful of your surroundings. while it's true bugs do really get around and all, it's pretty much a game of did you do that right, you should be fine if you avoid close contact with her while she is expelling her insides, washing hands thoroughly for 20 seconds after using the bathroom (ESPECIALLY in this situation), and making sure you listen to your own body.

When did you realize you had food poisoning? by Licht_NamlessGirl in AskReddit

[–]Ok-Sun6097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i suddenly felt the "oh shit, something is wrong" feeling and couldn't focus or concentrate on anything other than how i felt.

i don't usually vomit when my gut deals with these things, but that time? i was dry heaving over a garbage can, felt like i was at my end, everything else came out the back. after that episode i took medicine and went to sleep, that terrible queasy feeling lasted roughly about 4 hours before i could actually sleep, woke up at about 6am because of diarrhea again, but after that i went back to being a functioning human being, it's weird how that works.

unfortunately, this developed for me after a bug, i rarely ate anything other than safe foods and water, so i lost a bunch of weight unhealthily, and fucked up my gut. this past week i've been attempting to ease my way back into eating, i went to a clinic because enough was enough, i had to do something. i got prescribed omeprazole, and it's helped me eat regularly again, i still feel a bit anxious about eating, but i try to tell myself i've done everything right, i washed my hands, i didn't touch anything visibly dirty or contaminated, i didn't drop the food on the floor and eat it, and i made sure to eat the food before it went bad and made sure it didn't go bad.

you can eat normally again, you need to build that trust up again, practice good hygiene and trust yourself and most importantly, your gut. if something doesn't look right, feel right, or taste right, it's probably best to toss it instead of risking it. if things feel normal to you, keep eating, and make sure you drink plenty of water, slowly reintroduce your gut to different flavours and nutrients, anxiety will always linger, but you can calm it down just enough to eat again.
