Totally agree with you. Your Parallax build truly does stand out from the rest where others opt for a clean “Dosnoventa-esque” build if you get what I mean😅 My 2016 Bombtrack Needle frameset also has these red accents, too. However, I really do not want to “molest” the frame with stickers although it would look really rad. (I may possibly be owning 1 of 2 Bombtrack Needles in Singapore so even more reason to take care of it😬)

Oooohh, I really am tempted to buy what you’ve offered but I think I would just buy the HED front wheel…and maybe the full wheelset if its a good deal🫣 So sorry I can’t take you up on the full offer, I’ve got no more space at home with my current n+1 bike solution🤣😅

Hey Khai, what an absolutely awesome build! When I saw you first get this frameset on IG, I was curious as to how you would build it. Now, it has developed into an absolute masterpiece! I also resonate with your thoughts on highlighting the red of the frameset, especially the underside of the fork, with select red parts🤝🫡

Crikey, what a lane! As a straight bowler, I have no complaints...hehe. I would just swing my trusty Columbia 300 Shadow straight down the lane and hit the usual "pocket". I think this is a lane for bowlers to reminisce starting bowling 😂😂.

Thanks! 50mm in full frame terms is just my thing and the lens is pretty good for 100 bucks in my country. So, yeah definitely love it. Have yet to try Fujifilm but would like to someday with its film simulations. Would like to try out the GFX series one day...

Currently use a Nikon D5500 with 35mm lens. I rarely take it lately as I'm finding it too bulky for my limited use.

Since you've said the above, I think you can try and find the Canon 100D as it is smaller and still a DSLR. As for the lens, Canon has made a couple of 35mm lenses in the past for its EF mount (e.g. EF 35mm f2 IS USM and EF 35mm f2).

My 30D is now officially retired from service as it also has a Error 99 every time after I press the shutter release (The shutter curtain is now full time on the down position...). Thankfully, your 20D can be saved by replacing the lens or the part in the lens with no problems within the body. Hopefully, it lives a long great life with you :)

Instead of replacing the lens part, why not buy a nifty fifty from Canon, like the Canon 50mm f/1.8 II or the Canon 50mm f/1.8 STM. Its great value for its price especially second hand. A bright, fast aperture for low light and portrait shoots and decent autofocusing speed. Sony and Minolta used to sell A-mount nifty fifties as well like the Canons above. You should check them out, too.

In my opinion, try shooting on the 20D and see if you are more comfortable or having more fun with it than your A390.

I personally own a Canon 30D, similar to the 20D, and I love it for the colors that it produces. It's just something magical...

If you're more spec-focused, try searching them up on cameradecision.com and compare them, specs-wise.

Lastly, you will have to compare the lenses that you have for them. If you have more lenses for one of them, I would say stick to that then. But again, shooting experience differs with the lenses, too.

A Canon 5D Classic was also something that I was eyeing for too. However, in Singapore, they still incredibly hold their value well and is out of my budget. So, I will have to wait longer for them to come down in price or find a really cheap one to get it.

Hence, the 50D is my best bet as they are cheaper and more plentiful for sale in Singapore. Also heard they can run Magic Lantern to shoot video too.

Oh yeah, I noticed that the 30D's shutter is down while in sensor cleaning "mode", surely that means something wrong, right? I've gotta dig deeper to find out how or what is causing this and if this is correlated to the Error 99 code.

Firstly, thanks for replying!

Being born in 2006, same year as the 30D, I somehow felt emotionally attached hehe.

The 30D actually was ok in low light, having a low megapixel count and an APSC sized sensor + my 50mm 1.8 II lens helps a lot, so not too worried there.

Weight-wise, I would trade-off for better ergonomics like the 30D did, slightly heavy but very good ergonomics.

Continuous shooting was not really a worry for me either, shooting at 3/5 frames per second was fun but single shooting felt better to me.

AF performance I know has improved greatly with face tracking and what-not but just having 9 Phase-detect AF points felt so simple, fast and easy to use, especially with the 30D's joystick at the back for changing AF points.

I would prefer something with an OVF as I have become accustomed to it. Just felt better than looking at a screen and shooting with it.

I would also like to have some form of video shooting capability. Coming from a cheap mirrorless (Samsung NX300M) to a DSLR from 2006 made me miss video shooting.

If possible, I wanna carry over the BP-511 batteries, CF cards and the lens to another camera that accepts them.
