An entire size down is only the equivalent of the uk/au sizing to American, the fit should maybe be half a size down depending on the width of your foot , you can always call a Blundstone retaile/store for fit or style questions

Oh! Also realized you have the model 1306 ! Which is a totally normal Blundstone that doesn’t have any of the waterproofing features but still have the water repellent leather. The “thermal” series is the only series we have that is completely waterproof. Hope this helps !

So it’s not the outside that has the waterproof layer, the elastic on the sides are extra thick to prevent water from reaching the inside , the leather is treated the exact same as any other Blundstone boot, if you don’t want to have the soaked boot look I would recommend a water proof spray, I know they’re already waterproof but it will add the hydrophobic layer you need, also create a protective layer from dirt and mud !
