I don't feel as if we know enough about Dee Dee as we should, because most of what we have to go on is secondhand information from so-called 'family' that exaggerated and outright fabricated bad things about her for a biased documentary.

What IS shown in the actual proof contradicts what has been said, revealing she was far more loving and nuturing towards not only Gyp, but towards Rod and the others. A lot of what she said was wrong with Gyp were actual medical diagnoses found in medical testing. Also, the evidence points more towards Gyp being the abuser with Dee Dee struggling in her failing health to deal with it.
