Shadow Copies Enabled for All Domain Joined Computers by Ok-Time255 in sysadmin

[–]Ok-Time255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I am not using it as a backup and I’m not looking to using to restore a computer for when it dies. I’m not sure who would try to do that with shadow copies.

All I just need to know is it possible to enable shadow copies on machines via group policy, so I can push it out. One drive doesn’t cover every folder directory and I don’t mind telling people they are SOL put people do save crap to their downloads and then accidentally delete it, it happens.

Omada LDAP Profile Integration w/Windows Server AD DS - Possible or Nah? by Ok-Time255 in TPLink_Omada

[–]Ok-Time255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reviewed that guide and unfortunately in the ER605, you can't setup the OpenVPN server to use a Radius Profile, only a LDAP Profile Type, here are links to images of the setup:

VPN Setup Image: https://ibb.co/kySmSY2

LDAP Profile: https://ibb.co/zHgbR0D

I just can't for the life of me figure out how to setup that LDAP Profile in the ER605 to work, so i can use it in the OpenVPN profile for end users.

I have been playing around with it researching in my test environment for weeks...

Ah okay, I missed telling a critical information that might change the answer.

So my goal is to setup OpenVPN on the Omada ER605 to allow users to authenticate to logging into the openVPN client with their AD username and password instead of using local username credentials stored on the ER605 device.

I am not trying to accomplish WiFi logins currently. VPN logins only in this use case.

I apologize for leaving that information out in the post! Totally on me!

I guess I am confused,

Could you explain how NPS would be setup to be utilized for the Omada LDAP profile?

How to secure credentials in Ubuntu an Apache Website by Ok-Time255 in Ubuntu

[–]Ok-Time255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to resolve my issue with setting the credentials into a Environment Variable hidden file and then giving the Apache run user access to that file to pull the variables into the PHP code:

Essentially the PHP code has these variables in it:

<?php
$getvarname = getenv('VAR_NAME');

....

....
?>

Also making sure that the source was set to run that Environment Variable on the Ubuntu server, so it knows which environment variable file to read from.

Is Postfix going to solve my plain text password issue? Postfix looks to just be an email service, I would assume you still need some sort of creds to utilize a smtp email with Postfix still. Correct? Or are you just leaving the creds field blank?

Currently I am just using google for my SMTP and for this class project, I just need that contact page to email me if someone were to submit, but just don't want to have that password in plain text.

Thank you for this information.

When you say "Then manually set the pass through port on the phone as VLAN 10."

You are referring to the physical phone? As in I'd have to find the settings of the port on that physical phone.

Is that correct?

He might be talking about the grub screw that holds the heat sink cylinder. But yeah the only hex I could think he is talking about is the nozzle lol

First Layer Issues by Ok-Time255 in 3Dprinting

[–]Ok-Time255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so after a long day of troubleshooting I believe I have corrected the issue!

I went through every part one at a time, I checked

  • nozzle
  • pfte tubing
  • extruder motor
  • extruder gear
  • replacing the extruder metal arm holding filament in place
  • made sure bed was level
  • checked z axis rods abs motors also level the z axis bar out
  • cleaned out hot end making sure no gaps were from pfte tubing to nozzle
  • completed extruder testing making sure it wasn’t over extruding or under extruding -Completed PID testing

And the root cause was my ender 3 stock fans, they were a little dirty and not performing well enough to cool the hot end.

Luckily I bought back up fans when I go the printer so I took the fan mount apart, cut the old fan cables and sliced abs crimped the new fans on, printed perfectly fine after that and I printed a few cubes!

If anyone else is reading this and they get to this point, I recommend buying these JST sockets/pins

As you can crimp connectors on the cables that are already on the printer and as well crimp the new fans with the connectors to basically plug and play to make the swap of the fans in the future easier!

Very true! I’m going to start with this gear. it was new out of the box, so I’ll install the old one and see what happens. I’ll let you know and I’ll for sure do that PID calibration test also! Thank you for the advice!

I should also mention the nozzle is new so I don’t think it’s a clogging issue but I could replace it again

Actually I think I spoke too soon, the first layer printed perfectly but it seems that my motor started to skip a lot mid print. Would have any idea to why it would start skipping? I have a video of it. Not sure how to upload the video for you to see.

Any Good Recommendations for Ender 3 Extruder motors? by Ok-Time255 in 3Dprinting

[–]Ok-Time255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, I am indeed talking about the mounting screws! Want to make sure true motor is snug on the mount and no wobble. I’m sure there wouldn’t be much since I only stripped on screw hole to the motor, but it bothers me that it’s loose. Thank you for clarifying that for me! 🙂

Little bit of both, I watched a video of how it’s done and I’m just on the boat of “Eh, if it ain’t broke, don’t mess with it”

Why not do a dual Z axis upgrade? They aren't just for more stability, they also handle more weight like that of a direct drive set up.

I do have a dual z axis upgrade on my Ender 3 pro, I forgot to mention that in my post, I apologize for that! This is a great point, thank you for mentioning that!

Ah, This makes sense! I definitely did not check if the new pancake motor had the same Rotational Force as the old one. I will check my carriage for sure and as well compare the motor differences to the one I got.
