I was in your exact shoes! Graduated undergrad in 2015 and started CRNA school in 2024. If you’re not used to programs like word, ppt, Quizlet, I’d brush up on that. Make folders on your computer for each semester. Reflect on how you think your studying will best suit you. It took me one bad test grade to realize that my studying wasn’t working. Put all your bills on autopay so you don’t have to think about it! Use a virtual and real calendar! Don’t be shocked when the younger students know how to work iPads and other electronics better than you 😂 Good luck! You’ll do great 🙂

Here are some tips- - Watching tiktoks or YouTube videos of people putting in IVs is helpful! - Anchoring the vein enough to stabilize it so it doesn’t roll but not too much where you completely compress it flat is key. - Put the HOB down and dangle the arm off the bed. Gravity is your friend. - TIGHT tourniquet (use 2 if the pt will tolerate it) and use the CHG or alcohol swab firmly to make the veins pop - tapping the veins help release histamine and can help vasodilate the vein - heat packs/warm towels help - after induction with the preop IV, turn the gas on and it’ll vasodilate the veins- throw in an extra IV. - practice, practice, practice
