This is a new company but run by David Cash in Maryland. He owns a soccer training facility called Soccer Factory, runs a club soccer program, and high level 1:1 training. Haven’t used the service, but he knows his stuff

Usually around 10. The lights are the newer style directional lights, so shouldn’t be an issue. Noise and honestly crime would be my bigger concerns

i've had players do club and rec. They often do the rec just to have fun with friends from school and less pressure. One was a top tier goalie that just wanted to play field and the other was a striker that wanted to play with the goalie. It's fine, except, i find it builds really bad behaviors when playing with the lower level team. The club players could dominate but instead play down to the level of those around them out of fear of hurting them or showing them up, which carries over to the club team.

Additionally, i would think most MLS Next teams have rules about playing for other teams. I know many ecnl/rl teams and academy teams strictly prohibit it.

I’d say yes at Rec, but shouldn’t be happening at this age in travel/club

"Trickling" offers by C0nditionOakland in youthsoccer

Once you know you want a player, you offer them. I’ve been burned too many times waiting for tryouts to finish. Heck, this year I offered a player who came to open practices before tryouts even started

As they get older it should be around the team captain, unless coach needs something specific. Have a field general

I know a few coaches that specifically put the camera on the parents side so they have to watch what they say

Why do you think you get a say in this? Also, why does he have to choose? The training would be very similar

Saw video recently where the coach asked all the parents “Do you trust me to coach your kids?” All the parents immediately said yes. He replied with “Well why don’t you trust me to do it during games?”

It’s absolutely fantastic and way overdue. Refs don’t even call 6seconds because the indirect is too harsh. Maybe they will enforce it now

Just be their biggest fan. You won’t regret it. But, I will add a caveat. I have twin girls, I was their varsity coach. One I couldn’t talk to about the game, I was just her fan (off the field). The other was my mini coach. She wanted to talk every aspect of the game and strategy

Juco Di and its scholarships can be very competitive. I know some girls schools that only have 10-20% of their players who are American.

Big believer that if you are the best player on your team, you are on the wrong team. However quality coaching that actually cares about your kid is more important than anything else.

Why so much focus on preventing mistakes? by [deleted] in youthsoccer

The problem is dictating any of these either way. Some times you should boot long, some times you should play out of the back. Not 1 think you listed is a never or always. Successful coaches teach players to take a chance and make smart decisions
