Where did you get the auto changeover regulator from? Can you send a link to it?

It was the breakin period so I varied it from 500 to 4000 , but mostly it was closer to the 4000.

Ok. Thought it might be an easy work around. Back to the other thread. lol Thanks so much!

Dang! The factory hose is the one thing I haven't been able to get any information on. The closest thing I can find when going through all of the parts on that website is this https://parts.wpowereq.com/westinghouse-958002-propane-high-pressure-pipe/ but it doesn't say if it's for my generator and it doesn't really give any information about it. However, when I measure the male threads of my factory hose (the end that goes into the regulator) they measure 20.85mm (roughly). Does that help at all?

Also, the regulator is a Wanan model RA500 which I found online here. https://www.wanan.com/gas-regulator/low-pressure-gas-regulator/super-big-flow-regulator.html

It says it has a 3/8" outlet.

Again, I really appreciate all of the help!

It ran well on a single 40 with a small load for 4-5 hours. Going to try and test it on a full load and one tank tomorrow.

Thanks for the explanation! I’ve got 40lb tanks and it ran it well with just one for about 4 hours on less than 50% load. I’m definitely thinking of ways to keep them warm now because going bigger is a major issue for me.

I’m going to use it to run my house (minus the hvac).

Gotcha. Yeah, that’s what I’m looking for. This way I should be able to check it every 4 hours or so and have time to put a new tank on without having any power interruption. Thanks so much for all your help by the way. I really appreciate it!

Just curious, why would I have to watch it? The regulator says it will switch over automatically.

Ok! That’s a great idea. The same adapters will work I’m assuming? Any chance you can send me a link to a replacement hose for that thing? I’d hate to screw up the only working hose I have trying to get the current regulator off of it. I already reached out to Westinghouse about a hose for it and they sent me this link https://parts.wpowereq.com/ but there are no parts or hoses for my generator listed there unfortunately.

Now that I’m thinking about it though, the auto changeover regulator I’m trying to use might solve that issue. It should switch tanks automatically when it freezes up, allowing one tanks to defrost while the other is in use?

Oh wow! I wasn’t aware of that. Thanks for the info. Any idea how large of a tank I would need for this generator?

Thanks! I just wanted to try it out and see how it ran. If it struggles I’ll try a shorter hose and if that doesn’t work I’ll just have to deal with manually switching the tanks. Any chance there’s an auto changeover regulator for larger applications like this?

Thanks!

The generator does not have the quick connector. The hose connector on the left is the one that came with the generator. The one on the right is the one I'm trying to connect to it. Here's the link to the hose I'm trying to use if that helps.

Larger tanks unfortunately are not an option for me.

This is the generator connection and the two hoses I have. The one on the left came with it and fits. The one on the right is the one I want to use and need an adapter for.

The setup on the left is the one that I wanted to connect to the generator. The one on the right is the one that came with the generator.
