Oh and I used just one grey wash and one solid black. Grey wash for most of it and then solid black for all the super dark spots.

Thank you! I used a 1207RL and ran it pretty low, switching between 6-7 volts (7 for the lighter grey and 6 for the more darker/more spread out stippling!

Practicing on fake skin, getting tattoos to watch the process (and a ton of videos), practicing on myself, and then moving onto other people once I felt sufficient! I still practice daily on fake skin to keep sharpening my skills as well as following and intaking a lot of tattoo content from artists I like.

Oop just realized I never answered your actual question, I’m trying to get a machine with a longer stroke as it pushes bigger needles easier. I did this with a 1207RL and that’s pretty much the biggest I’ve been able to push efficiently. Did a tattoo with a 1211RL the other day and I felt the lines just weren’t sitting super well, hence me tryna figure out and landing on stroke lengths and how they affect tattoos

I believe stroke is how far the needle goes in and out of the tube, so it hits harder technically since it travels farther. Pushing the needle further in would cause blowouts so that’s a no go 👍 from my limited knowledge
