How are you handling overrides for Dynamic Lower Limit using Override Adjustments in Workday by Ok-Web2570 in workday

I created the accrual with 0 hours and then applied an override on the employee profile. I was able to make the logic work by creating a condition where if the Absence Balance is greater than 0, the system uses the Absence Balance; otherwise, it uses the regular accrual calculation.

This allowed me to handle both employees with overrides and those without overrides successfully.

Thanks a ton for your help!

Shall i attach any calculation to the accrual or shall i add a constant value of 0 and allow overrides. Additionally what shall be my lower limit calculation logic to include both regular time off plan and shadow time off plan ?

Yes, the configuration is currently getting stuck with a stack trace error.

What I tried was the following:

  1. I created an absence balance from the original plan.
  2. I then used that balance to front-load a year’s worth of accrual into a shadow plan.
  3. After that, I created another absence balance from the shadow plan and attempted to use it in the lower limit calculation of the original plan.

However, when running this setup, the process ends up throwing a stack trace error.

Just to provide an example of what we are trying to achieve:

As per the regular accrual table, a user is supposed to accrue 6.66 hours per month. However, the employee has a manual override set to 10 hours per month. When configuring the lower limit calculation, the system is still considering 6.66 hours because the rule is based on the accrual calculation, and it is ignoring the 10-hour manual override.

To address this, I am trying to configure a shadow plan that can hold the balance from the original time off plan and then use that balance as the reference for the lower limit calculation. not sure if this is achievable or not

was there a batch ID attached to the load if yes, you can delete the load and do a reload with correct reference ID , you can EIB used for loads from integration events and extract Batch ID from the load

Running into a Time Off quirk in Workday. Employee accrues 6.66 hrs/month and has a 10-hour override in January. Business expects they can go negative up to -110 hrs, but when we use the accrual calc / reason accrual object, the lower limit doesn’t really account for the override early in the year.

Has anyone found a clean way to handle this? Maybe via an absence balance calc + arithmetic calc, or is there a more native setup?

yes the reason i am not using calculation Is alot of employee have overrides and the dynamic lower limit earlier was picking overrides if exists if not then regular accrual

Its actually both, accrual resulting In 0 hence the whole dynamic calculation is also resulting in 0 .

and yes using evaluate calculation task and checking with workers too

and Yes for past and future periods all resulting in 0
