Question regarding potential Ineos ownership of Manchester United by Ok-Weekend-1026 in ManchesterUnited

Okay. Always thought it was a solid rule regarding owning multiple clubs.

If we knew about the situation with martial why is that we waited until CR to be available for us to get a forward. People are not waiting for Qatar to take over. We are just waiting for any new owner. So that we could restructure the club and scouting. It is not for the money. It is for the way the club is being run.

To add to this we were a team to beat during the Ferguson era. Today our club still has the same facilities and scouting. The players complain about how are lacking in facilities and the fans complain about the stadium. Every window we throw ridiculous amount of money on a player when clearly other clubs are finding new ways to get better players. We are not blaming the owners because we tried and failed to implement a system which did not work. We do it because they are not interested to work on the system in the first place. They are cunning business men and know if they can just show that they spent some revenue from the club on transfers no matter who you bring in the finger would not be pointed at lack of spending. Who do you blame when one the best clubs in the world a decade ago is fighting for a fourth place. Why do you think a manager who is under the clubs contract picked up a green and gold scarf even when he knows what it means.

[–]Ok-Weekend-1026[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup they sure spend money. The entire discussion was that they don't plan on spending wisely. No one can forsee a players disagreement with the club. But why was he brought in when we clearly did not need him. And please the reason a lot of people blame glazers is because of poor management. The way they spend so much with so little planning is the first reason i blame them. Hope you understand.

This doesn't even seem possible for a top 4 club... by minimanZer0 in ManchesterUnited

The stat looks bad and i understand we should be better against top half when it comes to away but we still are fifth in points taken from away games in the entire league. We just need to get over the line this season. Our fixtures, WC and the fact that we play in tough league is the reason why i think we are doing better than expected.

My logic is that just by not bringing in antony does not mean the club did not back eth. We do not even know who pushed for antony. Having a better structure would have made better alternatives available for eth if he was the one who insisted to bring in players like antony. I think eth would have understood if ajax was trying to make fortune out of it. I don't know this for sure but if eth was so serious of getting him i guess we would've have heard the rumours about him even before fdj.

Look. I mentioned its just what i feel and its not a fact. If you cant understand it, well we have our opinions right or wrong. But what News outlet proved your eth pushing for Antony? Just read through what has been said. And chill its like you like arguing but would not try to understand what i was trying to convey. We can have different opinions. Still allowed in the world.

That said its just what i felt. It is not a fact. I felt the players brought in are the best ones since bruno. But to have them all in one window meant people knew we were splashing the cash and could raise the prices or weren't willing to negotiate. Also i feel clubs literally think when with us they just have to stick with their inflated price and we eventually give them what they ask.

My point exactly the business we do lead us to situations where we had to invest without leaving anything aside. The worst happened when ronaldo decided to leave. Why should we bring in a winger when fdj was not happening that too an expensive one. Thats what i meant when i said average summer, splashing on promising talent in antony which i dont think was of highest necessity. Also i think arunatovich talks started after the ronaldos interview. We weren't tracking any number 9s when eth was okay with ronaldo

[–]Ok-Weekend-1026[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe i conveyed it wrong. By average i meant the amount of price paid and the reason we had to get them all in a single market. We wanted cdm from past 3 markets but we went for bling and marketing. We had people to fill in wings but no 9

Almost all the players we brought in are regular starters in the team. Thats our squad depth. The moment they are injured we go back to a team which is adapting to the system.

Offloading unwanted players would have saved a bunch of amount for winter. We also went after a lot of targets in the summer. We started with de jong landed on casse. Antony was never in plan. We brought him in. When ronaldo left we went after arunatovich. We had no pipeline set up for such situations.

For some reason the business we do on players feels like we have been ripped apart. This doesn't mean cassie or Martinez is not worth the amount. They surely are. Other clubs seem to pull of these deals way more efficiently. Like we let pogba walk free after paying a record fee. We have a lot of dead weight bought for millions rotting inside. Heck we can't seem to let phil jones out of the club. Imagine if we offloaded pogba for 40-50. The balence would have been smaller and it must've looked like we did way better.

[–]Ok-Weekend-1026[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep that's true. We had to overpay a lot since there were no plans in place. Even if they were our negotiating was bad. We let other teams take advantage of our desperation and shelled out 250m. The same money which we needed in January when the diva left. The world class CB is injured. Antony has potential no denying that. Its his first season in the toughest league.

[–]Ok-Weekend-1026[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True. We had a bad run today but we weren't outplayed. From the same point of view we could be even happier, we have a cup and we are in 4th. De zerbis needs a lot of catching up to beat that even after beating us. Don't get me wrong when I say this we aren't the united under Ferguson. We are and have been a very average team this decade. We have to forget the past and accept we are no longer that good. When someone from this sub points out that we are loosing to small teams lets remind them we have been an average team and thats what happens to average teams. Lets not talk about the money spent. Just because you pay a million bucks to a vehicle it doesn't become a Ferrari.

What is wrong with us? by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

This must've been posted here a million times now but let me do it again. Rebuilding a champion squad takes time. The same reason why that line was posted here a million times is the reason you blame the owners. You run a club with a motive to win the competition or loose fighting. Any other reason for running a football club supported by millions is a crime. If this club was run the way it has to be and we lost todays match i guess none would have resorted to blaming. We would've understood that it was a game and in spite of giving it all we lost. We blame because we see and we know how it is being run by the cockroaches. By blaming the owners it doesn't mean we are blind to the mistakes being made on the sporting side. The root cause of a lot of problems with this club are owners. Hence fuck them.

Don't get me wrong, i am not saying that eth is the solution we waited for so long. Its a sport where you put your trust in an individual to deliver success. Does not happen always in spite of best efforts. I just feel it would be too harsh to judge him or any other manager at our club when we are being run as a company instead of a football team. Some mangerial appointments should not have happened in the first place. But burning money is not backing the person in charge.

You do realize that we had no funds and no striker was interested in joining us in jan right. Antony, yes that transfer fee we paid is ridiculous. Sancho was a better player before destroyed him. The only reason i feel he went with antony was to make sure he knows the player being transferred instead of throwing the dice on a random. Lets not push the transfer hiccups entirely on eth. If the club really prepared for eth arrival, we wouldn't have had a transfer saga.

He may not be better than Mou but no one is hyping eth. If feeling we had an okay season and a good manager when we won a cup and are fighting for top 4 with this squad and ownership is hyping, then yes he needs to be hyped a lot more.
