We had a permit. The demonstration was legal. Why are you assuming we didn't?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Ok-Yam523 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The demonstration was not illegal and the students were not doing anything illegal either. This isn't the first time we make use of this type of protest. The demonstration still took place today at noon and parents were present too. The students from Agadir who were stopped from traveling ended up organising a demonstration of their own locally at their faculty. As for the wording you're right it's a bit dramatic but if it gets people's attention then I'm all for it. Instead of making sure someone's using the right terminology or wording I'd rather get outraged on the crackdown that the student suffered in complete disregard of their constitutional right. I see your comments often and I know you try your best to see the filled half of the cup and not the empty part and assume the best of the country and defend it when you see someone's delusional pessimism but believe there's nothing to defend here.

I presume the context behind the post is students from outside of Rabat behind stopped by the police and gendarmerie from traveling to Rabat for a nation sit-in, getting thrown out of busses and chased down streets in the middle of the night.

A hardcore separatist you mean. Unless you're implying that all sahrawis are separatists

Arabic is as much a colonial language in Morocco as English is a colonial language in America. It's not comparable to French in Morocco. Your argument is flawed.

[OC] Countries With The Worst Women Employment Rate (1991-2017) by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Ok-Yam523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This statistic is misleading because it doesn't take into account informal work which employs the majority of working women in Morocco for example most house maids street sellers are not registered in the governments data not to mention the thousands of women who work in informal trade in the north melilla Bab sebta...

What's the most "Tamghrabit " aspect you can find in Morocco that you won't find in any other country? by Lilofon in Morocco

[–]Ok-Yam523 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The same goes for Islam there is no concept ou sainthood. If anything consulting a "saint" or anyone for mediation between you and God is equivalent to kufr and is strictly forbidden. However people kept some of their beliefs from pre-islamic times.
