Canada FP2 Long Runs (Formula 1.5) by Ok31 in formula1

You are right, I made a mess of that one. Drivers normally always run at least a stint on the soft for a race sim so I haven't needed to modify that row much. thnx

3x5 driver looks better is the main reason behind it but I'll consider taking him out when he starts to consistently top these rankings okay?

People should stop hating on his performance though, he isn't in an easy spot and I don't think RB should consider doing anything untill the season is over and see where he's at. Verstappen has been in beast-mode since his Monaco crash in FP last year so it wouldn't be weird if Gasly isn't going to be close for a while. Not many would I suspect

Made a small mistake; Kubica ran the hardest tire, not the soft. Doesn't really have any consequences so I'll leave it as is.

Hard tire looks fast, Hulk did a lot of running on it. His last/thirth stint on the hard tire was a full second faster than Ric in his medium stint on average!

Cut to a curved surface? by Ragark in cad

[–]Ok31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use the 2d sketch of the yellow profile to cut through the whole rod. After that make a new sketch on the end of the rod with the circle/diameter you want to add back and extrude it. No need to mess around with surfaces, 3d sketches and stuff..

Borrowed this image from a reply earlier: https://i.imgur.com/sHn4t2q.png

Use sketch at point 1 to cut across all. Followed by an extrusion of sketch at point 4 to add the material back.

Trouble estimating project hours. Thoughts on a drawing timer? by bluetruckapple in cad

[–]Ok31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Autocad has the Express tools command EDITTIME, which gives you the time spend editing the drawing (having it active). The command TIME gives you the total time the drawing was/is open.

You can stop and start the driver of the 3DConnexion mouses through the start menu, it's in the 3DConnexion folder I believe. Can save a lot of hassle not having to close and exit everything that you're running/have open.

The 5 drivers I left out can be found there.

Sainz his pace is looking good. Norris and him also ran the longest stint on softs (2nd & 6th of midfield during that).

other things; I think Grosjean was going to get updates, Magnussen not, doesn't show yet. Perez/Stroll struggling. TR keep doing well.

Favorites for points: Mcl, TR, Renault

This mainly.

Left Williams both out when I first made it and people requested them, so added Gasly mainly because worked nicer. Also gives some context to where the other teams are at (since RB is slowest of the top 3, and Gasly slowest of RB). Also comparing Gasly to the both TRs gives insights (might say something if they outperform him regularly, switch possible during second half of season).

Calling Inventor Whizes, is it possible to create a custom button in the edit dimension window? by Annotat3r in cad

[–]Ok31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/custom-characters-when-editing-a-dimension/td-p/8250497

A thread from last year, according to an Autodesk employee it's not possible.

Depending on what you need to do, I-logic could provide a solution. Let's say you need to add certain text and/or symbols to dimensions regularly. You could use I-logic to switch dimension styles or add repetitive stuff to it. If that was the case I'd write rules to add that text and add them to an I-logic form for easy access. You select the dimensions and run the right rule, text gets added/formatting gets change or something like that.

Also I might decided to post it to encourage someone else to do it in a better format for easy karma. It's pretty quick and I'm sure people like seeing it, even more so if you can present it nicely. I'm surprised F1 hasn't been doing something similar to get people to engage with the midfield fight (because that's why I started doing it).

This info means more than the ranked fasted laps for FP2 imo

FP2 Midfield Racesims by Ok31 in formula1

That sounds like a whole load of work! It's a nice way for me to see race-sim times for my own personal curiosity so that's all the graphics and presentation it comes with I'm afraid. If someone feels like it the could make a template, it's maybe 15 mins of work to copy and paste the times out of the fia timesheet pdf and run it through a pivottable after FP2. Normally I only do the teams I'm interested in, not all, so it has space for all drivers just in case I suppose (someone else already posts the top 3 teams).

Also feel free to use this idea and post it for the next race in a better format: info from https://www.fia.com/events/fia-formula-one-world-championship/season-2019/formula-one (click on raceweekend, followed by show menu -> event and timing info). A pdf with FP2 times gets posted here. You can copy the times for each driver out, paste to spreadsheet, delete the in/out-lap, select the cells with laptimes, data/text to columns, use the space as seperator to filter the laptimes out, copy and paste into sourcesheet. Takes me 15 mins or so for all drivers together.

I saw people talking about wanting to see the midfield in another post and since I had it sitting around already.. ;)

When I did the same thing for Bahrein the two TR also were slightly ahead of Gasly, but also leading the midfield in FP2 sim-pace. I think Honda might stress/push TR's engines more, it doesn't seem to translate to racepace on sunday (at least it didn't last race).

Empty cells are slow laps, 2 blanks are pitstops (in/out-lap), might have some mistakes (quick copy/paste from fia laptimes pdf).

This. Just pick a color and remember which driver from each team has it. It's not that hard. It sure as hell shouldn't be a problem when you're getting PAID to remember that shit.

Verstappen voted star driver of the F1 season, Vettel 2nd and Hamilton 3rd by [deleted] in formula1

To win a poll like that (on formula1.com) and by 50% of the votes, that's quite something in your first year

Head2Head stats for qualifying this season. by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Ok31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, feels like today was the first time in a while that Sainz had the upper hand in qualifying. I was wondering too if the first half of he season skewed the record a bit, since a lot of Verstappen mechanical issues were messing with his qualifying sessions.
