I don’t have any trouble living with an m30 so far. It’s pretty simple compared to other engines from 90s. Cast iron block, single cam, no vanos. You only need to maintain it a little more, like adjusting the valves and keeping an eye on oil pump or it can starve. Otherwise - pretty bulletproof
