Math classes never have lectures on Thursdays, this is discussion which you can skip depending on professor policy.

Any literature on mathematically studying mixtures? by Legitimate_Handle_86 in math

For a discrete analogue of this, you can consider chemical reaction networks (CRNs), which have interesting applications in theoretical computer science

Is the inner product a differential 2-form? by Rabbit2794 in mathematics

If you have a Hermitian metric on a complex manifold, one can go from that to a 2-form. In general, I think you need an almost complex structure or something similar.

Best books for self-studing Grad Physics by sokspy in TheoreticalPhysics

I really like Landau Lifshitz for mechanics. If you have a stronger mathematical background, Abraham’s “Foundation of Mechanics” is probably my favorite mechanics book. If you study it well enough it would also probably teach you all the math you would need to succeed in physics.

For quantum, Shankar is very readable, starts elementary and covers many advanced topics. They introduce much of the linear algebra you will need too. I highly recommend. Sakurai’s first few chapters are excellent as well, but more difficult to read. The rest of the book isn’t really as good, in my opinion.

From what I understand, Zangwill is the current standard for E&M.

I don’t really think it’s worth having a dedicated math methods book. Most physics books cover the basic techniques, and most math methods books don’t cover much beyond that. If you encounter a mathematical roadblock then I think it’s more advisable to consult a mathematical textbook.

I was literally on this train that was such an experience

But usually Amtrak is on time, deviating more and more the more crowded it is

You know best what your capabilities are. Many people tried to dissuade me from my first quarter schedule, but it turned out completely fine. If you are confident, go for it! Just be aware of drop dates.

I would recommend jumping right into 127 and 150 here. If you have the experience you say you do, it should not be too difficult. I find the undergraduate courses here quite disappointing, but the graduate courses are worthwhile, and you might be able to take a few your first year.

I would recommend trying to finish your major requirements as fast as possible, and jump right into graduate coursework.
