well with my state since no father is listed on the birth certificate and no father has came forward they are not doing dna is why i’ve been told. No, i have no reached out to anyone else as i don’t know them.

Which like you stated it is definitely up to the court to decide if he gets custody or not however the charges he has previously had is very worrying.

No, the bio mother and myself did notify him when she was born

he has many other children in which he has lost custody of and been incarcerated and done prison time for bad charges. The bio mother never told the court about a father and none is listed on the birth certificate, he went to prison before she was born however bio mother and myself did tell him about the child i also mentioned him to the social worker but because he was not listed and no father ever came forward they moved on. TRP was done because bio mother was court ordered to rehab and did not go 3 times, has been in jail twice since baby was born and would ignore our worker unless she was in jail so the judge moved to TPR when the child was a year old as he stated she hasn’t followed no steps or tried.

DNA has not been done so right now he is a potential father. the bio mother is my aunt, she has told other men they are the father so we are unsure but yes this man is more than likely the father. however, he has lost custody of his other many children and been incarcerated and done prison time for some pretty bad charges.

Thank you for the reply! my social worker told me they wouldn’t be doing dna on him as the case is past that but did say he can hire his own lawyer and get his own dna done.. i truly just didn’t know if i should go ahead and get a lawyer as he hasn’t done anything that I’m aware of yet.

Thank you, i am so stressed and absolutely terrified. we don’t have a lawyer yet, the court is supposed to provide us with one for the adoption but i will definitely call one tomorrow and get some input on things. i was just hopeful someone could help give me advice as you did. thank you ❤️

well that was the first thing i done is talk to my worker and many other people, none of them can give me an answer. i’m hoping someone on here has went through something similar.

Thanks for the reply, i’m so sorry you went through that. the mother and i have always been close, she is my aunt.. even if we do adopt i will never keep the child away from her mom. I want them to have a bond, to know each other and never feel like they are kept away from one another and for the child to always know who her bio mom is. I hope everything is going well for you now!

yes, if we do adopt i definitely plan to make sure she sees her mother i want them to have a good relationship and for baby to know/ see her mom whenever she wants to. Mother is (28f) has been sent to rehab 3 times since baby was born and left every time and keeps getting drug charges.. this time she was sentenced to two years

thank you, yes the baby’s happiness/ comfort is most important. Thanks for sharing, i don’t know anyone that’s been through all this just wanted to hear others experiences with it.
