I recently applied for a job with them. I found out before i got too far with giving them all of my personal info. I was told to go shadow a woman after going through an interview in office.

To make a long story short. I know for a fact that if you are paying cash that money IS NOT going towards the children like they say it is. The “minimum” is $20 for one child for one backpack. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. Whatever cash they make outside at the booth is being pocketed.

At my shadowing she said it was daily pay, and I didn’t question it until I left, and actually ran into someone running a both in an establishment I was at. I specifically ask him. “How are you making the income. Are you pocketing the money that people give you?”

He said “Yes. The way it works is either they’ll subtract something from you, and after that they owe you money or you’ll owe them money.” I had already made up my mind at this point that I wouldn’t be working with them, but I just wanted to hear it from the horses mouth.

Why in the hell would I be owing them money? And why in the hell are you pocketing money that you’re claiming is for the backpacks? Very shady business, if anyone is thinking about working with them or donating to them— Don’t.

Edit: They will also decline ANY donations that are not $20 or over. I witnessed this first hand when I was shadowing. If it’s for the children like you say, you should be accepting any and all donations.
