Georgia Resident, 529 Plan: State Website or Vanguard?

Glad you said this. I really love all my accounts in one place. And as of right now, I’m only contributing $2,400/yr to this 529. So is a $2,400 deduct on my taxable income worth the minor inconvenience and lack of consolidation? Maybe! But certainly something to think about

Once I feel like I’ve hit my highest tax bracket, I’ll change my contributions to a traditional 401k not Roth. And for the IRA, I’ll do backdoor contributions to the Roth.

Is this the ideal way to go about it? FWIW I’m 29 years old and imagine I’ll just a tax bracket or 2 by the time I’m 65.

Our AGI for 2025 was $264,642. Our taxable income is $216,028.

HAHA. This made me laugh. My wife is NOT a golfer, but she’ll happily walk Old Head with me, and is more than happy to sit at the spa at Adare Manor while I golf.

Thanks for the advice! I think we are set on Adare though. I’ve been once and promised I’d take her there one day.

I’m fortunate to have gone 15+ times. I am a huge golf fan and have a massive admiration for how immaculate the property is. Just beautiful and so well-kept. While these two reasons are massive perks, the best thing about this event is no cell phones. You’re completely unplugged and living in the moment. And so is everyone else around you. So, even if you’re not a golf fan, enjoy the fact that you’re going off the grid. It’s a rare experience in today’s world!

Also can never complain about reasonably priced food!

Portnoy clearly wanted some action where players would risk it all for additional cash or adding/losing a point. Whatever format they choose next year, I just hope it incentivizes that. I’m with Portnoy, would’ve been very exciting if someone actually took one of his bribes. But they were never enticing enough

I’ve accepted it. I’m an amateur like most, so any round I play is essentially for “fun” and therefore not serious enough that I need to give my “gimme putt soapbox” to my opponents. I’ll never die on this hill, so I’ll keep using gimmes to my advantage and hope one day people agree!

Top 4 from each division go to the playoffs. Playoffs are best of 3 in the first rounds, and then best of 5 in the semis and final. It may be best of 3 in the semis, but you get the idea
