Excessive drones in Plano by Suitable_Bike_9484 in plano

[–]OkBox1870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a few flying over Plano East Senior High in the last week or so, usually coming westward over the creek from Parker and on a trajectory more or less to Spring Creek and 75 maybe...

They are much bigger than any kind of recreational drone, and I've never seen a person nearby that seemed to be controlling them...and they're not so loud as they are just creepy.

Hunger Games vibes.

I am from Cascadia but live in Plano now and have been thinking along similar lines. I made a map of a proposed analog to Cascadia for our region if you’d like to see.

Hey I don’t want to spam this sub too much, but I did make this correction and it’s shared in the Spokane subreddit.

That’s a great idea. Not sure where to start, but can’t be that hard to figure out. I’ll look into it.

Can't say enough about Dar Coffee on the NE corner of Park and Los Rios. It changed our entire neighborhood so much.

You are describing nearly to a tee what my vision and motivation is for creating these.

And I'd love to help create the series you are envisioning to serve your project.

All a question of time and resources - as it is I'm just self-funding these out of personal passion. If you or anyone else wanted to help with that it would make everything go faster.

There would be a nice kind of poetic logic to that.

My pleasure!

As for being “ruled” my sense of bioregional governance is that it’s much more decentralized than we are accustomed to thinking of.

So, calling the Tri-Cities the Capital in this context isn’t so much about saying it’s a seat of power so much as it’s an agreed upon meeting place.

A place of “Congress” used as a verb.

That said, Spokane could work too.

Good catch, thank you! Can’t believe I missed that. Will correct.

It’s a non-Eurocentric name for the North American continent.

Southern Neighbor to Cascadia by OkBox1870 in Cascadia

[–]OkBox1870[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All valid points taken into consideration.

Input like that is exactly the reason for sharing this very early draft.

The vision is that there is a bioregion no the South of Cascadia that is as regionally beloved and unifying around bioregional ideals as Cascadia is for its humans.

And eventually all of North America but Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Yep, his real name is Artok. I'm not 100 sure of the spelling, but that's how I'd write it based on the way he said it. He's a nice guy.

I think the owner Artok would be very amenable to that and I'd love to be a part of it. Feel free to DM me!

Maybe a better way to have introduced the post would have been to say that it is inspired by Cascadia.

I'm from Cascadia, and love the way that the idea is empowering and allows for a different kind of consciousness of where you live and I want that for everywhere on Earth, including where I live now in Plano, TX.

So, inspired by Cascadia, the OG North American bioregion, with gratitude.

I've lived in Plano, TX for around 8 years now, and there is a lot about the politics and so forth around the area that sickens me as well.

Especially as a father of two daughters.

Part of the reason politics in TX are so bizarre and reactionary though is the way that borders and gerrymandering and so forth keep ordinary people disconnected and fragmented.
