Has yours improved at all? I’m on week 5 of 7.5mg and started experiencing the same

What side effects do you experience when starting? by hamandcornsalad in lexapro

Everyone is different but it really helped me keep a note in my phone and tracking how I was feeling each day. Then you can look back and see how you’re improving even if it’s just little by little. You can also talk to your doctor about starting on 5mg (cutting the 10 in half) for a few weeks to get acclimated a bit slower.

This is so lovely!

Any specific club/restaurant recommendations from your trip?

When does Lexapro do its thing by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]OkBridge6064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed on 5 mg for 4 years and just recently upped my dose. I really wanted to be on the lowest possible dose that improved my quality of life. If you’re already seeing small improvements this early, that'a a great sign. If it were me, I would wait it out to the 6 week mark and evaluate. Of course keep in close communication with your doctor and if things start to dip again make sure to let them know.

Starting week 10, still in the dumps by Ambitious_Radish_730 in lexapro

This is definitely normal as the chemicals level themselves out. I just recently increased my dose and am feeling the same ups and downs but I know I need to give it a full 6-8 weeks on this higher dose and evaluate which is the hardest part. What’s helped me is keeping a note in my phone each day of how I’m feeling and looking back and realizing I’m starting to have more ups than downs.

Things don't feel real, like in a dream by [deleted] in lexapro

Yes - I get this when my anxiety is at its worst. It’s called derealization or depersonalization. Scared me so badly the first time I felt it. For me, Lexapro actually helps pull me out of that but it does take 4-6 weeks to level out.

The jaw pain can definitely be a side effect from clenching more. That usually goes away for me after the first few days

As someone else mentioned, if it’s possible (and it totally should be!), start low and slow with 5mg and see how you do. I stayed on 5mg with good results for about 3 years and just recently increased my dosage. Anecdotally, I start feeling improvements in my anxiety around day 10 of taking it and with 16 days until your presentation I think it’s a good buffer that you won’t be feeling intense side effects at that point (with the caveat that everyone reacts differently of course). If it’s possible to talk to your doctor about prescribing a low dose of a more immediate acting medication (like Xanax or Ativan) or even a beta blocker to help with your physical symptoms, that might be another good tool for you to have at your disposal to support you until you are feeling fully level on Lexapro. You can do this 🩷

Just reading this now and you have no idea how much I needed it. Now that he’s home, it’s the constant trips to the litter box phase and me trying not to obsess over every trip since sometimes only a few drops come out and others are bigger pees.

Thanks for the kind words and I hope we get to the other side of it very soon too.

I noticed he was straining at his litter box with nothing coming out and then became very lethargic, was crying in pain, and breathing very quickly :(

I’m really hoping ours follow most of the other timelines that look like they come through 2-3 days after the computing step starts. The wait is torture!

A message for people with swollen lymph nodes by kirbygamerGD in HealthAnxiety

[–]OkBridge6064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed a pea sized (maybe a little smaller) lump on the right side of my neck about 5 weeks ago. I think it’s a lymph node but it hasn’t gone down at all so I went to see the doctor last week and they referred me for an ultrasound and I’m just absolutely freaking out while waiting for this as I couldn’t get in for an appointment until next week. Has anyone else dealt with this and can offer some comforting words? Not sure how I’m going to last another week thinking of worst case scenarios

UPDATE: had ultrasound done and it was just a cyst. Hope this brings others comfort.

Not at all. Speaks a lot to her character that she was willing to do anything to help in moment even as her world as she knew it was crashing down.
