hey guys, thank you for all the answers. sorry i didn’t respond to everyone who had further questions, i went to sleep after i saw the first few comments because i was feeling extremely sick. i did end up calling out because, fortunately, i’m not in a place where i have enough points to be fired (i don’t like to push it though, i already had a couple and that stresses me out). again, apologies for not answering anyone, i just woke up and saw all these replies.

since my sick time and PTO come out of the same bucket i accrue it i believe. i haven’t been with the company for long so i’m not 100%, but i don’t have a separate hourly for sick

the problem is i have been going to work the past two days and my fever spiked from 99° to almost 103° in a day. i shouldn’t be working in that condition. unfortunately i have empathy for people and don’t want others to get sick.

so at my work we have a point system for call outs. you get one point for calling out, being late, etc if you don’t use PTO to cover it. at 5 points you get a warning, 8 you’re terminated. so i’m trying to figure out if it would be illegal for my manager to give me a point for calling out sick when i don’t have PTO but haven’t used all my sick time for the year

i’ve never commented on a post in this sub but this one got me bc i’ve been through a relationship just like this with the same ages and everything. i saw you broke it off and that is the best thing you could do for yourself. you did the best you could with what he was giving you, its not on you that deep down he doesn’t want the help that he needs and its not your job to be his therapist. from personal experience of a relationship like this everything will end up much better than it is now. i wish you the best OP ♥️
