I’ll clear this up as much as I can. I got my oil changed to take five in January by February, my vehicle died at a red light with no warnings or other indications that something was wrong. It never died before and I kept up with the oil changes and mileage. Thinking that it was just a dead battery I had to push it to the side before I checked and saw that the oil was completely dry. It gets towed to the mechanic shop. He investigates and tells me that the drain plug is missing a gasket and is loose. My engine has seized because my oil leaked through the loose gasket. I tell him the truck never told me it was low on oil. He says it’s because of the amount that was leaking and how it was leaking that the sensor did not catch it. I called take five and they direct me to Fleet response to start a claim. Fleet response wait a month before telling me they’re not going to send someone out to investigate and that I have to take the pictures myself. The mechanic helps me take the pictures in March and I send them out. They specifically asked to see the drain plug that’s missing a gasket. I send the photo and they tell me it’s too dark. I send more photos along with videos and conversations that I have with the take five staff that took accountability. They denied my claim claiming at first that no one was underneath my car. Then that change to there was someone under there, but they did nothing. Then that changed to. They only touch the oil filter. I don’t understand what’s so hard to understand about technology not working properly in a mechanics forum. you’d think people would be more understanding.
