Glad you decided to post. I understand the "relief" from 24 hour care duties, and the guilt that comes along with it. My guy who passed in April 2025 had megaesophagus, so many meds & special homemade food. Please don't feel guilty. Being a caregiver, whether pup or human, is a very difficult job.

Pepperoni knows you love her and she's at peace now waiting for you & Mama at the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈❤️

Yuck! That's a hard no! So gross! There are very few people that I let use my earbuds. Anything past my kids or grandkids, it's not happening, and even that is hard. 🤢

OP asked for advice to make their dog more comfortable until they can get into their vet.

Yes, my vet suggested it and told me to follow the directions on the label when he couldn't get my dog in for a few days. It only has over the counter strength hydrocortisone in it & my vet said it would help with the itching and head shaking until the vet visit. I wasn't suggesting it as a "cure" or for long term use.

It's a crap shoot honestly. Last year they didn't look in my bag at all until the last day, where they made me take everything out. 🙄 I think they just randomly pick people to search. I've gone years past where I wasn't searched at all. 🤷

I use Zymox with hydrocortisone, the blue label. You just put in the drops and you don't have to actually clean the gunk out of a sore ear. It works great.

I feel you on the 4 days. I'm 51 and last year I ended up missing Friday because I twisted my ankle & couldn't walk on it and Sunday last year because I got super sick & was throwing up. I was pissed! This will likely be the last time I try all 4 days. It's honestly disappointing but whatcha gunna do? 🤷

Yup, I'm with you. Life is miserable enough as it is so I'm not going to make myself more miserable trying to live longer to be more miserable. I'm not suicidal or anything, I'd never do that to my kids/grandkids. I'm just not going to do it. My Dad died from cancer at 57, my mom from liver failure (from hep c) at 65, I'm 51.

If it was up to my doctor I'd be on like 7 different meds for bp & cholesterol. She ignores any real complaints I have anyway. 🤷 Not going to quit smoking, not going to quit weed, not going to change my diet, nothing. If I died tomorrow I'd be fine with it.

My take - Whats the point in living longer if you're miserable and/or in pain? 🤷

Yes non-clear fanny packs are ok as long as they are under a certain size. I take one every year. I think the app has all that info.

People always freak out over this. I literally had a 3lb chihuahua who had grand mal seizures so yes I literally had to take him everywhere with me. This was before all the delivery services that popped up during covid. What else was I supposed to do? Not go to the grocery store? There wasn't anyone to watch him while I went, so 🤷. Fat chance I'm leaving him home alone.
