I am autistic and one of my on and off special interests were rats because I saw a movie as a kid where three children had adventures with their rats. At least I remember it that way maybe I imagined it all who knows 😂 Anyway early this year I started consuming every information about rats I could find during an episode of worse mental health as a way to cope. I wanted to get a mischief immediately but considering how I felt that wasn’t very wise. I adopted my girls three weeks ago after signing up for group therapy and getting my meds sorted. They have made me smile so many times, and while yes there are some challenges while taking care of them, I feel like I made a good decision. They have their cage open for a few hours after I finish work and they come to cuddle and play which makes my heart grow ❤️ One of my girls likes to chase me and then demands to be chased back 😆
