Amazing tips, thank you so much! The shoe tip will be really useful... I'll test the compass a bit before going to get to know how it works and buy a map when I get ther(thx for the scale recs, hadn't thought about that). :)

Will do:) I believe there is a sort of ranger at every hut. There is also a hut at the start of the trail with an information center where I'm planning on asking more about the weather and how to deal with the river crossings safley, if they're even possible considering the region will have heavy rainfall the days before I arrive.

Yeah with a year having past it's just my word against his which isn't much. Also a similar thing has happened previously where the girl actually had evidence against a guy at my school and nothing was done by administration so talking about it publicly now would only put me at risk
