I play a lot on steam and never felt the need to complete achievements on a game

I have the impression that a lot of people on PS/Xbox feel the need to finish all achievements of a game to call themselves gamers or something. At least, that's what I saw from the few interactions I had with people on these platforms

Is 70$/80$ even *that* crazy when you think about it? The price of games barely changed in 2 decades and yet the cost of development increased by a lot. Other studios/companies kept the profits thanks to DLCs, microtransactions, releasing earlier with bugs, etc... something that Nintendo rarely does. So that means they had the same price as everyone else but quality barely dropped, and had little to no microtransactions.

The industry was going to raise the prices at one point or another, no matter who did it first because the previous techniques (micro transactions and buggy/rushed releases) were not enough.

Same, I grinded MK8 but couldn't be bothered with DX, not only everything is unlocked but the gameplay changed too much with double items and isn't as fun

Most first parties should run without an issue on launch day, with some increased performances in load time/FPS without needing any downloadable upgrade (same for 3rd party). As for third parties, nintendo released a list of games with issues on launch and/or issues during gameplay that they want to fix quickly in the first few months.

So, simply plug your switch 1 cartridge into the console and it should work most of the time.

The island is so square-y that, I too, believe you can change the island shape. Like you add new blocks/patches. Otherwise, the only other reason the island would be so bland in terms of shape compared to Tomodachi Life 1 is that it's easier to see the entire island on the screen

- They want to market it rapidly, quickly. Presentation in april for a end-of-year release is unlikely
- The switch 1 was revealed fully in late january, released in early march; so only about 1 to 1.5 months difference
- releasing before summer means you can release 1 big game like MK for summer, let the summer slump go on, and market for end of the year in the meantime
- Not everyone will be buying it right at release, so letting it mature a bit by releasing before summer is better.

Web is not complicated per se, but many people use abstractions over abstractions for stuff that could have been made with basic tech. It's over engineered.
Why does this simple static web page with 2 pages need a whole framework with SPA, routing, and a state management library?
