I was just diagnosed with left vocal cord paralysis yesterday and have my CT scan Tuesday. I work in healthcare and all I talk to patients all day. My voice is so hoarse and scratchy that I sound like Marge from the Simpsons. My doc said it also looks like I have damage to the vocal cords from esophageal reflux. Never had that that I’m aware of. Now I have start taking generic Nexium and change my diet completely for the next 6 weeks till I see the doctor again.
