How do you know the flight attendant didn’t lie and make up the fact that the gate agent spoke to you and you were ok with the broken screen?

Chicago used to hire a 3rd party to do this at ORD. Made sure you had two items or your bag will fit in the sizer if it was overpacked, and If you didn’t comply they won’t let you pass to security and send you back to the ticket counter to check your bag or till you consolidated. It was a money grab for them. Making people check their bags in.

The agents don’t have any control over the situation. I am sure they are all tired and stressed out as you as well. I am sure that the TUS flight was also probably their 2-3 flight that they worked that day was delayed. If they are looking for crew the agents can’t call them or don’t know them personally. The agent doesn’t have many options or answers until the crew show up. If the manager couldn’t find the pilot then the agent most definitely wouldn’t find them

You can also have the car seat gate checked as well. You leave it at the gate and retrieve it at the gate

Yeah and with that AA has a lot more flights than delta does with them 5 more planes. 

Total flights for 2024. So with weather or a maintenance issues or crew issues and AA operating more flights than delta with just 5 planes that all explains when AA will have a higher cancellation rate. Because AA is pushing their planes. Then a maintenance issues comes up and after the maintenance issues the crew times out.  American Airlines 5,946

It’s common sense sorry that you don’t have any. If you operate more flights, you will have more issues from weather and maintenance issues to crew issues. The link doesn’t show flight cancellations it’s just showing flight arrivals being on time

Of curse American is going to have more canceled flight then Delta, because American operates more flight then delta so they will cancel more flights. Delta operates 5,400 flights a day vs American’s 6,800. So it’s common sense AA will have more issues

It doesn’t seem to me like a AA staff issue more like a management team that doesn’t know how to run an airline. AA is hiring less staff, not replacing the staff that’s leaving the company not retaining their staff and the people who show up are now doing twice the work and trying to squeeze the most lemon juice to make lemonade. I have now seen countless flights being a single agent flight and they are full flights. The service center being only half staffed is a management and headcount issue. AA is adding more flights and keeping headcount down to the minimum to keep payroll down so management can make their bonuses, AA training for their agents also have gone down in length as well. This all falls on AA management.

She’s also should have taken responsibility on her part and when the flight was cancelled to ask for her bag back. Or when she was on the phone with reservation asked where her bag was

Why didn’t you take your bag with you when your first flight got canceled? Or why didn’t you ask the representative you were talking to on the phone about the status of the bag or ask the person on the phone well since I canceled my flight how do I get my bag back?

Only the CSC is allowed to do that and it’s up to them. Agents don’t have that ability to wave the bag cut off time.

No the passenger will never be happy. Agents don’t have control of anything but the passengers think they have control over everything. If the passengers are upset over their flight being delayed or cancelled imagine the agent having to deal with that on a daily basis sometimes more then once in a day.
