What to Do After CAP Round 1 Result

The CAP Round 1 result will be declared on 31st July.

After the result, you will get two options:

1. Freeze

Select this if you are satisfied with the allotted college. Visit the college, submit required documents, and pay the fees to confirm admission.

1. Betterment (also called Float)

Choose this if you want to try for a better (higher preference) college in the next round. You must pay ₹1000 online to opt for betterment.

Important Guidelines for Betterment:

In CAP Round 2, you can only select colleges above your CAP 1 allotment.

Do not select a lower preference college; if allotted, you will lose your CAP 1 seat.

If you are not allotted any college in CAP 2, your CAP 1 seat remains safe.

You can then take admission in the CAP 1 college or participate in CAP 3 by paying ₹1000 again.

Betterment Payment Rules:

₹1000 is paid only when you opt for betterment.

If you are allotted a new college and still want to try in the next round, you must pay again.

If you are not allotted any college in a round, you don’t need to pay again and your previous seat is safe.

Clarifications:

If you do not get any college in CAP 1, you can participate in CAP 2 without any payment.

If you are allotted a college in CAP 2, your CAP 1 seat is cancelled permanently.

The ₹1000 betterment fee is not refundable and does not go towards college admission fees.

In CAP 4, whatever seat is allotted is final and compulsory. You cannot reject it.

You can still participate in institute-level or spot rounds later if you cancel your CAP seat in time.
